However the default is set to having the home drop down closed

We changed the default behavior because many users were having trouble navigating around the site and missed the forums drop down menu we used to have on Huddler.
To help, we had some custom development done to replace the stock navigation menu with one we can customize. Now you can jump to any forum from any page on the site. We also have a forum directory on the front page.
On desktop, there's also forums drop down that functions just as it did on Huddler.
From the feedback we received, access to "watched threads" was less important than direct access to forums, and we want to make sure everyone is able to find NEW posts and doesn't remain cloistered in one or two subscriptions.
In the future, we'd love for the menu to remember your preferences - so that if "home" is the one you prefer to have open by default, that's what will show up. For now, you can access your "watched threads" link by tapping the menu button, expanding the home tab, and then selecting the option of your choice.
