Wearing shoes on and off court...Will it hinder the performance?

Don't be that dude who wears his shoes outside and then comes in the gym... making the floor dusty and crappy... not hard to get a second pair of shoes.

There are indoor and outdoor basketball shoes.

That's just the way it is

Your indoor shoes need to have that squeak in them and no dirt should get on your hands when you're brushing off your soles to get that max grip

Keep my indoor shoes indoors. Even careful walking can get dirt and rocks in the tread.
This is the best reason to keep your indoors shoos indoors. Wearing them outside won't hurt the traction. However, if you're wearing them on gravel and other rough surfaces, it will wear out the cushioning much quicker and even pop the air. Pebbles & dirt caught in the sole will hurt the court, hence why coaches don't want their players wearing their game day shoes outside of the gym.

Suggestions for outdoor ball shoes? I heard there are no really outdoor shoes cause sooner or later the grip lessens

I'm pretty sure the signature nike shoes have both outdoor and indoor soles you can put on them, my mate copped a pair of Kobe's from Kicks-Crew and they had the outdoor sole on them, harder wearing...I usually just recycle my oldest pair as my outdoor shoes.

My 2K4s never ever hit anything but indoor surfaces. I'm strict, almost superstitious, about the grip on my shoes. My entire game revolves around quick jabs out of the triple threat and a quick first step. Without grip, I'm useless on the court.

Nike does make a harder rubber sole for outdoor bball that's popular overseas in Asia especially because they tend to play more outdoor ball. It's an option on Nike ID.

exactly, the indoor court is a like a spiritual zone, the shoes that touch hardwood should never be mixed with the outside world of dirt/cement/ etc, Outdoor shoes are kept just that, strictly outside balling.

Pretty much what everyone has said. Your hooping shoes should only be worn indoors.

beat indoor shoes get turned into my outdoor shoes. i dont play outdoors enough to buy a new pair JUST for outdoors

hooped indoors with lebron 8 v2 two times n it was garbage IMO compared to my other shoes. I played em outside for a year and the grip really good, just dont expect them to do anything indoors anymore. Nice shoe for outdoor, durable grip, comfy i wear them casual and as beaters to whenever I pass by a park, I can instantly play

im with the majority of posters that keep pairs strictly for the hardwood. i got too many indoor ball shoes, one pair for outdoor, and then my casual rotation. i use the contemporary performance kicks like the lebrons and kobes and such for indoor ball. Usually i banish one of my indoor or casual wear kicks to the outdoor basketball realm. And my casual rotation consists of mostly retros and trainer types. i buy shoes faster than i can put them to the test indoors but thats because i cant risk missing out on a shoe that i really wanna play in. when they retro'd the olympic shox and the huarache 2k4(both shoes i played ball in back in high school) i had to scoop even though i already have plenty of indoor shoes on reserve. i figure i will eventually play in them even if it is only a handful of times. then i can wear em whenever. :smokin
