JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Federal welfare recipients could be subject to drug testing in order to keep their benefits. The Missouri House Tuesday gave final passage and sent to the governor a bill that requires recipients of Temporary Assistance to Needy Families to take drug tests when directed by case workers. If they test positive, the adult will lose his or her TANF payment for three years. The recipient can continue to receive payments if they agree to enroll in a six-month drug treatment program. If the recipient is suspended from the program, family payments will continue but will be sent to a third party. The bill also mandates that cards used by TANF recipients to access payments carry a photo identification. The bill faced strong opposition from House Democrats, but in the end, 16 Democrats voted in favor of the bill that passed by a 113-34 vote.- Missouri News Horizon''

There's nothing wrong with this. Hope that this program has success so that other cities and states will implement it.

The only loophole present is the third party. Who is the third party? If its family then the program will be a waste imo.

me and a friend dont like him so we are thinking about blowing the whistle on him to the department of labor. the dept of labor says you have to put at least 3 applications in a week to be considered actively looking for work. not only has he not been doing this, he turned down a job because he said it would mess with his unemployment
