I think the direction XXL is going for is finding artist that most people haven't even heard, thus remaining true to the "Freshmen 20xx" moniker. But Lil B has been out there for a minute with a big fan base. Dom should have got in for sure in my opinion, but how many people would have been looking at the name Dom Kennedy and said "I've never heard of this fool".
As for a rapper i wound't listen to, I can't say for sure because i try to give everyone a chance.

Honestly, ANY rapper that has been hyped-up in the last 2 years (J. Cole, Lil' B, Mac Miller, etc). It's not that I have a stubborn, close-minded mentality, but it just seems like after checking out a few of their songs, I'm unfulfilled and don't hear any substance in the music.
Also, I refuse to listen to all 14 of their mixtapes just to find a few gems.
Personally, I'm an album guy and these cats just release a plethora of mixtapes/street 'albums.' I prefer cohesive albums. Not saying I will never listen to them, just have little desire, especially considering the fact I'm already overwhelmed with a bunch of music from other genres.

As for me, 97% of "NT rappers" are trash and should quit while they're still only slightly behind. I can only see 5 MAYBE making a life out of this.
