What kind of experiences have you had on cruise trips?

What's up NT. Newbie to the whole cruise scene.. For those that have been on cruises, share your stories here. What did you like/not like... Where'd you go, what line were you on.. Is there a good cruise line/destination to go with for younger crowds? What do you do when the ship is on thewater, what do you do when it docks? What's a good company to book with?

Basically, lookin for a summer trip.. Would you recommend it? If not, how about Cali? I heard San Diego/La Jolla is like a heaven on earth. Any otherrecommendations? Dominican? Jamaica? ?????

I've been on 5 man, best way to spend a week. Been on Norwegian (best), Costa (worse), Royal Carribbean and Carnival twice. Always went to the eastern andwestern carribbean... Days at sea u just chill by the pool, eat, drink, club, smash, all the above... When it docks you go to the beach, sight-seeing, drink,eat, all the above. Also been to Jamaica for a week all inclusive. Great time.(Negril)

Basically, a cruise depends on two things: The people you're gonna be spending a week with on the ship, and the crew...Carnival sucked because the crew wasawful...Norwegian was probably the best week of my life cuz of the random people that were on the ship and we all meshed well together..

Jamaica was great but you're in the same place all week.....Try a cruise out at least once you'lll enjoy it...I'd say norwegian or RC.

Bring walky talkies for the your group because your phone will probably not work..
I've been 2 a few. Try and get one with more people in your age group... twice i went and there was nothing but old people and kids/tweens...

I've been on Grand Princess in 1999 (I believe it was a 14 day cruise around Europe) and I felt that was the best. I've also been on RoyalCaribbean four times, twice in Caribbeans and twice in the Bahamas. It wasn't too bad, pretty good actually. I went on Norwegian when I went to Hawaii andI felt that it SUCKED. It might have been because it was in 2005 and they didn't really get their @%%* in order yet, but freestyle dining was lame cause ittook forever to get served. Most recently I went to Alaska on Grand Princess, everything was ok.

I recommend Royal Caribbeans though cause I feel like Grand Princess is lacking nowadays.

been on 2.. tijuana mexico and the bahamas
HELLA fun.. alcohol on the boat is a bit overpriced
and if you buy drink off the boat youll have to sneak it on cause they hold it until the cruise is over

I was watching this documentary on MSNBC on Cruises...I dont remember if it was Norweigan or Royal Carribean.

In a previous thread about this, someone stated one of the cruiseline has a lot of old ppl....and I believe they stated Carnival was fun cruise line, and allaround best deal n what not.

I been on Norwegian .... it was ok, pretty fun. You got to sneak your own booze on though cause they charge a arm and a leg on it.

I've been on Royal Caribbean and Holland America.

Royal Caribbean is very nice, I loved it, no drinking for me on the ship because I was 18, but I could gamble.

I believe on Holland it was the same, but did not have a casino.

I love them. They are my favorite things to do for vacation now.

Cruises are cool. All I did was EAT. They had buffets at 2 in the morning like everyday. I wanna do a "singles" cruise. I heard them shhis be off thehook. EVERYBODYS single, so the sole purpose is to..............
