Sup NT,
Back in middle school I used to be subscribed to SOLE, gamerpro, and SI. I've been thinking about maybe just subscribing to some magazines again... If you guys do subscribe to any which ones & what do you like about em?

Im subscribed to NT magazine. It is a monthly periodically that gets delivered to my house. Couple of guys made it back in the day and it is still going strong. Theres this whole WDYWT section, also a pyp section. Along with great information about monthly release dates. There is a Ask Henzo page and also a troll of the month. Its a great mag, you should look into it.

Wired - keep up with the web

GQ- keep up with mens fashion

Maxim- keep up with pop culture

GameInformer- Ratings let me know which PS3 games are worth getting

Playboy- Good Read/they send you Porns when you just pay the shipping, and its............ Playboy, not to mention its 20 bux a year

ESPN- No explanation needed

I used to subscribed to Vibe before they became a minstrel magazine and................Mens Health (Need to read that one more

), anything else is a waste of time IMO

Good Luck

NONE... magazines are the bane of my existence.

my wife works at an ad agency so she gets a lot of comp subscriptions direct from the publishers since she needs to check on how her ads look in print. the problem is, she brings home all the ones she thinks she is going to read, and the ones she thinks i will read. i swear, one of these days im going to die by being buried alive under a 2,000lb mountain of magazines. In any given week, she will bring home 10 different magazines, if not more.

STILL got that free subscription to Maxim I got from here in like 04...my free subscriptions outlasted Stuff magazine

SLAM
GQ
ESPN
Sports Illustrated
Texas Football
VIBE
Source
XXL
Playboy
Maxim
Seventeen
Car and Driver

I just throw them in the bathroom and coffee table for guests

(I have online institutional access to almost all of these so I'm not technically subscribed)

Magazines I've consistently enjoyed (I enjoy long-form journalism and all these places excel in that medium.)

The New Yorker
New York Magazine
New York Review of Books
New York Times Magazine
London Review of Books
Guernica
n+1
Los Angeles Review of Books
Discover
National Geographic
Caravan
The Walrus
The New Republic
The Nation
Boston Review
The Economist
The Atlantic
Vanity Fair
Esquire
GQ
Rolling Stone
Sports Illustrated
Nature
Scientific American
Harvard Business Review
Outside
The Believer
Lapham's Quarterly
Smithsonian

The ones that I definitely look at every issue are New Yorker, NYMag, NYRB, NYT Mag, Atlantic, Boston Review, Caravan, GQ, SI, and The Nation and The New Republic. The others on the list I get to more often than not but there is a definite hierarchy.

I'd recommend any of those for anyone looking for good reading material that is thoughtful, entertaining and diverse. Stay away from trash like Maxim. It's free for a reason. There's definitely a wiki for most if not all of these mags. Go search.

Sites that curate from top magazines and other long-form sources and are completely free:
Longform.org
Longreads.com
Thebrowser.com (my fav site on the web, besides NT of course)
3quarksdaily

Hope this helps!
