I'm thinking of purchasing a new laptop around Christmas time...I was pretty set on getting a new MacBook Pro (I have the 2007 MBP now), but I was interested to see what other good laptops were being sold on the market. I primarily use my computer for doing homework, watching movies, music, some online gaming...Are Sony laptops any good? It'll feel weird going back to a PC, though.

Don't be fooled Sony introduced the chiclet style keyboard before Apple made the Macbook pros. The Sony Z is actually very competitive with The Macbook Pro 3 Different models the Air, '13 & '15 pro. Reason cause the Sony Z uses SSD Drives hand have powerful processors than the air core 2 duo. The '13 still carries the core 2 duo when you can get a Z with an i5 or i7. It has faster graphics processors than 15' with toggle switch graphic card. Screen resolution is by far none better than any laptop on the market cause it 1080p and you cant customize with blu-ray. The only downside of copping a Sony Z is that its Windows OS so your still worrying about system failure Its a great laptop. But i rather put my money on a mac Cause I own one.

I'm in the market for a new laptop as well so I'm intrigued to hear what individuals have to say.

I'll never ever buy a dell laptop ever again and I've never been a fan of Macs but I was playing around with a co-workers iPad and was wondering: Would ANYONE recommend getting an iPad and having it serve as your general, day to day laptop? I have an IBM ThinkPad for work but need something for the typical web browsing, entertainment functions. Does it have the full capabilities of your every day laptop or is it limited in its specs and abilities?
