18 i didnt have a choice my parents purchased me a condo for graduation kind of a nice way of kicking me out....

i always liked living alone but my parents are close and my mom is on of those moms that comes over and gives me everything i need if i have money or not so i guess my situation is rare. Only con is cooking for myself took awhile for me to get used to that...

I am 20 right now I will be switching to a 4 year school next year and I think I will still stay at home. The commute won't be too bad. Plus I have it made in the shade at home. My parents live on the third floor I live on the first floor by myself. It's like a little bachelor's pad. I will probably move out after I start my career and save up enough for my own home. My girlfriend is doing the same, we have a pretty good plan.

A lot of my friends have moved out already and have moved back in already. Make sure you are financially stable, and then some. The idea of living on your own is alluring.

21, not yet. I'm aiming to move out by May 16, 2011 (1 year after graduation). If I haven't by then, I'm losing.

im 23 and im still at home. i wanted to move out when i was around 19 but since i live in NYC rent is stupid expensive. plus everyone (friends and family) told me not to do it yet. im going to wait to move out until i have enough money to put money down on a house for myself because i dont want to live in an apartment. so i'll be here until probably 25-26

Im 23 and im still at home. Im financially able to move (since i was like 20)

My mom wants/need me there to look after my neice and nephew.

i have nothin but pros cause i have can have girls come over and i can do what i want.

I dont smoke weed or nothin so its not like i would have to sneak around.

I save money. etc. only con is i work with kids so when i tell them i live at home still, that stigma is a hassle to deal with.

18 years old. 7 years ago

...Best decision of my life. I moved out to attend college almost 500 miles away. I was already prepared to leave on my own thanks to my upbringing. I already had my own job prior to graduating, I knew how to cook for myself, and clean after myself accordingly, so it was no problem. The interesting part was watching everyone around me self destruct because they honestly didn't know how to live on their own, nor did they have a full grasp for responsibility away from their parents/ guardian's pad.

...Whats really sad are all of the individuals who decided to stick around their parent's pad after graduation. Nothing wrong with this from a financial standpoint, but the chasm of differences between us were measurable, not only from a dependency standpoint, but mentally as well (clearly non of you NT'ers - you guys are all smart

)

...At the age of 25, I'm quite confident that I will never ever return to the Moms crib, I could sustain anywhere.
