We don't need to revolt like the Egyptians, but we do need to have a movement like the hippies and grunge musicians.

Never this country was designed with the intent of stopping revolt. "Freedom" has made people complacent and satisfied with the way they are living. the surplus in entertainment, along with the ushering of silence among "superstars" has made it difficult for normal citizens to care about the wrong doing of the government.
Look at the things that have happened in the past 10 years that should have caused some revolt, (in any form whether it be violence or just heavy banter)
1) The First Bush election where suddenly a recount was needed and the family wound up taking the election
2) 9/11...... War in IRAQ
3) Katrina, imagined this happening during the times of civil rights and the amount of anger and outburst that wouldve took place

Folks in favelas and townships with no shoes, running water, adequate medical care, or anything close to a respectable government and you over here with high speed internet, cellphones, cable TV, fridge fulla food, freedom of speech/religion/sexuality, and Nikes on your feet made by a kid in Vietnam who won't make in a year what you'll spend on 5 trips to the club and you wanna revolt huh?
