When you are done with a relationship, do you get rid of everything that came from it?

Thats what I'm curious about right now. As you have all heard I had a big relationship go down the crapper but that's beyond the point now

I still have roughly 2000 pictures on my comp from the last 3 years, and I just can't bring myself to delete them. I guess I'm hoping some day when I get completely over it, I can look back at those pictures and remember the good times they brought. I have a few pics still of my previous ex before that.. and got to that point with her...

So the question is to delete them or save them, after all you can never recreate a picture... thoughts?

i would say its not necessary, as long is its not like you look at them day in and day out and dwell on it. I still have all the pictures of me and my ex on my computer, i never look at them though.

I delete phone #, fb, text, etc. You pretty much cut off communication if you're sure about your decision

Pictures and stuff I can keep. It's not like i look at that stuff everyday anyway

delete/trash everything besides the material stuff she gave you(as in gifts)

Yeah, I haven't looked at the pics since we broke up, but I just didn't know if it was normal to keep them or what

Unless it was something useful like electronics or a pair of pants or something, it all goes in the trash...

She got me a plug and play kit or whatever its called for my 360, most useful thing ever, no longer to I go through batteries like crazy.

i sometimes keep something or another from previous relationships, to remind myself not to make the same mistakes

Tough question.

What if you two get back together? All of those pictures will be down the crapper.

I suggest you wait at least a year before deleting those items.

Hopefully, the relationship ended on good terms and you two are still friends.

I know it's tough. Keep your head up.

deleting/throwing away stuff is a chick move.

Keep the pictures when you are much much older you will enjoy looking back over your entire life.

Throw out anything non material. You shouldn't have a problem wearing shoes or clothes they gave you. If your that hurt just wait a while.

Don't ask for stuff back either.

i wanted to get rid of 'em all, but then i wouldn't have nothing to wear after

Nope, I keep it to remind me to not go that route again and better myself. When my life is set and everything is extra extra good, then most likely it'll be tossed.

delete em next time if another relationship goes down the crapper you should just take pix of her mad so when you get over it you can reflect back on those pix and remember why you guys broke up.

I still have the stuff from my previous relationship that lasted 3 years...it didn't end totally on a bad note so I got everything in a box under a bunch of other boxes. One day when I get older and have kids I would like to show them when I was younger. Pics, letters, presents I'll keep but everything else that is meaningless is in the garbage that I don't need.

But how's your wife gonna feel about that?

Enh I don't really like keeping anything for more than 6 months regardles. It creates clutter. I'm not very sentimental anyways.
