I don't know. I think this is possible.
What if there's a nuclear holocaust on earth and starting over isn't possible, or at least doesn't make sense?
If we humans are nothing but another animal, then the thought of death is so depressing because wherever we go, it's the same place where trillions of ants, worms and mosquitoes go when they die, and I'm pretty sure that's not some romantic place like heaven.
earth or other planets which is not true.
But as far as your second statement goes.
One would say such things as insects and other animals. Dont have souls.

I also would like to state that as much as we may talk about it in society.
The theory of other life-forms outside of earth has NEVER been proven.
That is simply fact until otherwise.
If things were to come to that point then there would be no need for reincarnation ... meaning the desire knowledge and wisdom one would hypothetically seek through reincarnation would already have been satiated, and therefore one would exist as some sort of spiritual, sentient being or energy in its purest formOriginally Posted by fac3 tak30v312

I see what your saying however a belief in some form of afterlife is not an excuse not to live in the intangible now ..... In fact what would bethe point of life if that was the case ?... I don't think or even believe that one is truly meant to believe in any form of an afterlife only that withlife there is death!Originally Posted by sheistbugz
I just can't fathom being dead. I don't really believe in any of that reincarnation/after life heeba jeeba, I think that death is just something that we can't understand, like how big the universe is, or the 4th dimension. But I also dont believe that when we die it will just be game over. Imma be thinking about this all night now
What you just described is a pseudo-science and has not been proven. There have been attempts at "scientists" to try tocharacterize and detect the "Spirit" (Ectoplasm)Originally Posted by sixersdukejordan
As I science person, I gotta say this is how I look at it: Everything is energy in one way or another. Humans (and animals) are an amazingly complex form of organized energy. I believe that through the course of our lives, our energy is changed, I'm not sure how, but it's changed. Eventually, our physical energy runs out and our bodies die. I believe that may be the end or more likely our energy (spirit?) is reorganized again. Maybe how it's reorganized is based on how we lived, maybe not. But the real question is, What is energy?
