I like the new profile pic Chest. He's the Ted Cruz of basketball players.
Born in Canada, loved by the simple minded, but most everyone knew he wouldn't show up when it mattered the most.
the harold Miner leagueThey need to create an actual minor league system for guys like that.
I like the baseball draft model TBH.Man that draft was bad
At some point there needs to be honest discussion on how the NBA can fix the way they draft. A guy like AB should have stayed in school and developed for 2-3 years minimum. I don't think many of us sees the NCAA as anything but corrupt but the way this is set up right now is broken. Far too many 5-star kids playing one year in school, bolting, then sitting on benches and/or out of the league before long.

Bust or not, coming out the draft is always the best thing to do when you're a projected lottery pick. Especially in a weak draft. AB made himself good money he wouldn't have made had people knew he wouldn't pan out.

I'll never understand this. Some prospects pan out...some don't. That's the nature of any draft in any sport. You can make kids go to school for 10 years and it won't change the dynamic of players who succeed and players who don't.
A full blown minor league is already happening. That's why teams are launching their own dleague affiliates every year.
If you think the D League is a full-blown minor league similar to the way the other sports have it you are dreaming.
As for the prospects themselves, teams are going to hit and miss on all drafts we know that. But as a paying customer of the NBA I am more in favor of teams picking players on a body of work of say three years instead of one. Or picking players and sending them to a real minor league system to develop until they are ready.
Is there a perfect solution to any of this? Of course not. Let me say that too. When the NCAA is as much a joke as we know it is you gotta throw a lot of ideas out.
Pretty sure teams are scouting (even if it's not in-person) the American prospects from their HS and AAU days, so that's basically four to five years right there.Man that draft was bad

I don't understand how this kid is not productive in the NBA. Kid has to be mentally broke at this point. He had no business being drafted #1 overall. Blame the Cavs. I was absolutely shocked when that happened.
Still, good kid. Rooting for him that he can become a productive rotation player down the line. He was a man child at UNLV.
