Thinking about his career, he's definitely the best international player to ever lace them up, and he's definitely a top 10 PF of all time, but whereon that list does he lie?

I think the top three is pretty undeniable; TD, Malone, and Barkley.

Since KG has a ring, and his prolific career before getting his ring, it's only right to put him above Dirk I suppose.

Elvin Hayes is high up there, while Pettit was a pioneer, Kevin McHale was one of the best during his days as well...

So top 5? Not quite. I think he's somewhere in the mix as 7-9 as far as all-time goes. That's not even mentioning other greats like Dave DeBusschere,Buck Will, or Rodman.

when you say he's the best international player to lace them up, are you referring to accomplishments in the nba? or on an international level?

way down in the bottom. its kind of laughable actually. i dont even see him as a PF dude...

I guess I could see a case for Nash, but I was talking about in the NBA.

Top Ten all-time.

Duncan
Malone
KG
McHale
Barkley
Dirk
Bob Petit

No order. There are others but I think these guys are firmly in the top 10.

he's def in the top 10...

its a tough debate over who's better between him and KG....dirk led a team to the NBA finals w/o a superstar sidekick, while KG won a ring w/ 2 of hall offamers on the wings...

i'm biased towards dirk because the Mavs along w/ the clippers were the laughing stock of the NBA before he got there.

If the ring is the deciding factor then KG would be over Barkley right?
Dirk and KG have very comparable careers if you take out the ring.

Malone and Barkley had much better careers than KG did IMO.

i would rank dirk over webber.

webber had a few top notch superstar seasons with sacramento but he was very injury prone at times in his career and dirk has been putting up very good numbersconsistently year in year out throughout his career.

This will not end well JA.

Just like when those stupid Top 10 lists came out this past summer, the same arguments will exist...

Is KG better than Barkley and Malone? Can Dirk really lead a team to a championship? How did he win MVP and then get shut down by Capt. Jack in the playoffs? The unusual Webber love that he gets on NT. The hate too of course. Duncan will be brought up. Then more lists...

Dirk is that dude on the Mavs though. Not a big fan of his leadership and his off the court shenanigans with that old woman...

Gotta respect that shot tonight though.

My list, which is restricted to people I actually saw play. I don't understand why people bother ranking someone like Bob Petit. How can you possibly knowwhether you are ranking him accurately? That's a joke to me.

Legends:

Duncan
Malone
Barkley

Superstars:

Garnett
Dirk
Webber

Studs:

Gasol
Jamison
Rodman

Might make the list soon:

Amare
Bosh
Boozer

Exactly.

JapanAir is like 14 years old, talking about Elvin Hayes.

Damn, I'm not CP, but I'm not even close to that young.

So in 50 years, people shouldn't talk about Michael Jordan right?

And people will be like, what's a Larry Bird?

Magic Johnson? Sounds like a bad porno.

Almost every single Jordan game could be accessed somewhere. There is enough footage that people will be able to make strong opinions. I doubt you've seenElvin Hayes play 2 games.

Dirk is Top 10 for sure maybe Top 5 All Time.

Dude has an MVP which means his ticket to the hall is already stamped.

tempted to put webber in there somewhere because of those absolutely bonkers statlines he used to put up but,

even without the mvp the nod probably goes to Dirk. he's been THE man on a successful team for a decade now.

Dirk is top 10. And i think alot of you are sleeping on Bob Petit and his accomplishments.

Talbert

If you don't consider Tim Duncan a PF (which I don't), then Dirk is 4th best 4 ever.

Barkley
Malone
KG
Dirk

I'm sorry, but Chris Webber is not better than Dirk. Dirk has had both more team success (NBA finals), as well as individual success (MVP season) thanWebber. What else do you measure a player on? Statistically, Webber's 00-01 season is better than any season Dirk had, and that's really the onlyargument you have for Webber. Dirk has had an amazing consistency this decade. All 10 of his seasons from this decade he's averaged at least 21.8 ppg.Eight of these seasons he's averaged at least 23.4 ppg. 4 times All-NBA 1st team, 3 times All-NBA 2nd team and 2 times All-NBA 3rd team. I'm sorry, butChris Webber isn't touching this.
