oh..it's not coming? You know why? Because he shouldn't have apologized. He explained who the joke was pertaining to and that should have been enough.

just in case you didn't hear the original joke...

Then we get this....

So, Palin....your daughter is so untouchable that you use her to imply that David Letterman, a dad himself, shouldn't be around little kids. Brilliant. Seewhat happens when you use your kids for political maneuvering?

Did Palin accept Dave's apology?

"Of course it's accepted on behalf of young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation ofgirls will soon evolve,"

Ok fair enough...whoa whoa...then this...

"Letterman certainly has the right to 'joke' about whatever he wants to, and thankfully we have the right to express our reaction. Andthis is all thanks to our U.S. military women and men putting their lives on the line for us to secure America's right to free speech - in thiscase, may that right be used to promote equality and respect."Yeah. Military protecting Dave's right to make fun of Palin's brood. Jesus. Didanyone know of any impending attacks on our freedom of speech? surely I would have heard something. 'Terrorist wanna take away your Palin jokes.'So.

This is bad. I hate that Dave folded to the pressure. Where are the apologies from the myriad of 90s comedians and Rush Limbaugh (which could be considered acomedian I guess) for the jokes about Chelsea Clinton? Why weren't those demanded? The sad thing is that the Clintons didn't even use Chelsea the waythe Palins use their offspring.

Joke was funny

. Besides, they brought it on themselves.

If Bill and Hillary demanded apologies, they wouldve gotten them. Everyone folds under the PC pressure

I like Dave.... but that was beyond overkill. Palin DID bring her daughter in the discussion, for her own political goals, but nobody deserves those words.

Do you have a daughter? How would you feel if someone insulted her like that in a public setting?

No, I don't have a daughter. But

1. I've seen jokes from Late Night Comedian 10x worse
2. Palin had no problem using exploiting Bristol's pregnancy for political gains.

I'd be peeved too, don't get me wrong, but they're FB status basically blew the whole thing out of proportion. Then even after his apology she goeson NBC Today and brings up again, thats what I meant by it not being THAT serious. He said sorry, dead it already.

The joke was meant for Bristol, who is 18 and a public figure, so that's fair game. The joke was funny, but Palin's younger daughter wasthe one w/ her @ the game, that's why she got so butt-hurt.

Personally, I can't wait until this woman is a Trivial Pursuit answer.

I was about to say the exact same thing. Palin has every right to be upset, while Dave has every right to shut up.

Uh - no she doesn't. You know why? Because the joke was about an adult who is also a public figure. Palin needs to go somewhere and sit down.

This. I hope Palin's a front-runner for the Republican candidacy in 2012 lol.

Well Dave has a right to say the joke, but Sarah has a right to disagree and talk about it as well. Two way street

Yeah I agree. But insinuating that Dave shouldn't be trusted around little girls is a bad.

OFT. Unfortunately for her however, this is nothing new. Sarah Palin has been making herself look less than intelligent for the longest time now.Did Dave have a right to make the joke? Yes he did. Did she have a right to be offended by the "crude" joke? Yes she did. This is all part of thebiggest allure of the American dream, free speech. Simply put. Both of them had the right to act as they did and say what they did. In the case of thePalin's however, the whole thing was nothing more than a feeble attempt at getting her name in the news again by doing what politicians have been doing foryears, taking something that has happened recently in the media and bringing attention to its "political correctness," or lack thereof, and applyingit on a national scale. Unfortunately for them though it meant them bringing in their 14 year old daughter when the joke was obviouly intended for their 18year old daughter who is in the public eye and outspoken enough to speak for herself.

Seriously, come on. He wasn't talking about the 14yr old, that would make no sense. AND honestly the joke wasnt that funny... A-Rod likes then oldand ugly..

Palin knew it was about 18 year old daughter....she's just playing dumb so she can get some tv time

Excusing poor behavior with "well, I've heard X10 worst in the past and nothing came out of it...or it's not that big of a deal" is NOexcuse.

I don't like Palin one bit. One part of me says that she deserves that (and more) for using her kids and crying foul for every little thing.

Excusing behavior in a civilized society (I'd like to think so) is just a slippery slope.... What's next?

For all those who see no harm in this... I wonder if you'd feel the same if he was talking about your 5, 13, 15, 18, 25, or 43 y/o daughter...Itdoesn't make it OK.
