Just because it's an important game or you play every year, it doesn't make it a true rivalry.

There has to be some history to it... important, close, hard-fought games.

LIke they try to paint Michigan State vs Penn State a rivalry game, but we've never played a meaningful game against them that I can ever remember... theblood drive contest between the schools is a bigger deal than the football games. If anything, OSU and Michigan are more our true rivals, but they already haveheated rivalries with each other so PSU basically has none unless you want to point to possibly West Virginia from back in the day, and possibly Notre Dame orPitt for awhile.


But most of the ones you guys are listing are just based off things that happened like in the last year... like, really bobcats and lakers are now rivals?

give me a break.

And if you have 5 teams you can list as rivals, you don't really have any true rivals. That's how just it works. If you can't clearly point to oneteam and have every fan say it in unison, it's not that much of a rivalry...

For instance... when I say Red Sox, if the words that come out of your mouth next aren't NY Yankees... you aren't a sports fan. That's pretty muchhow you can tell a real rivalry or not.

you prob got like 2 out of those 6 right...spurs and boston

-cavs...its more like the media trying to stir up a Lebron/kobe rivarly...not really their respective teams

Probably ND, but in teams that actually have done something in the last 20 years, I'd go with UF: FSU, Miami (wish they'd play every year), Tennessee,Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and maybe Bama (cause of all the SEC Champ games they've met up in and great games in the regular season when they play)

Lakers only have really two true rivals: Celtics and Spurs cause of the classic battles they've had recently and over history. Maybe you could throw in theSuns. The Cavs and Magic aren't a rivalry. Kobe and Bron may have a rivalry, but as far as the teams, they have been on 2 totally different ends of thespectrum until very recently, and just cause a team plays another team in a championship series doesn't make them a rival. There has to be some history,bad blood, etc. between them.

Agreed, this dude just named people we met in the playoffs

with theexception of Cavs.

Some people are forgetting the Suns vs Lakers rivalry, too bad Suns are trash now.

Kings still get an honorable mention because when they head up north the hate / love is very strong.

Easily the cowboys.

Dallas vs Nfc east, Stealers, Bills, Packers, 49ers, Cardinals slightly only becuz their stadium is susually filled with boys fans who travel from Texas sinceArizona is fairly close. Recently the Texans have a slight rivalry with Dallas tho the reasons have nothing to do with them playing each other.

49ers and cowboys is the best rivalry period btw. I wish I was a kid again...

P.S. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I recall the cardinals cowboys rivalry being deeper from the time they were part of the NFC east
