white boy vol. flipped the script

Ok yesterday I noticed something about how whites and blacks "describe" each other.

Today for some reason its acceptable to call a white man a  "white boy". A lot of blacks and minorities use that phrase and the whites that use it got it from them.  And white people usually say "black guy" or "black dude" not "blackboy".

Now back in the day during slavery thru the civil rights movement whites used to call us "boy" no matter our age to show dominance and disrespect.  50 year old black men were called "boy". 

Now that times have changed I think its like a reverse thing and somewhere down the timeline we started calling them "boy" or "white boy".

Question for my white NTers...are you offended by the phrase "white boy" ?  How do you feel when its used towards you?  I'm curious.  Personally I don't use it because I feel its disrespectful.

I'm not white but I think it's ridiculous whenever anyone includes race to insult someone.

What's the point of calling someone a "white boy" or a "black boy" or "asian boy" or anything race related... it only makes you sound like an idiot.

This happened a couple of days ago in SF. Left Brain from Odd Future getting in a fight at the SOTY party and called dude a "white boy". People wondered if he was messed up for saying that but the guy he ended up smacking was a punk from what I hear.

Agreed ^^^. But, despite how you say it somebody could still be offended. So my thing is, don't say it at all.

I'm not offended when people say that to me, but I don't think it should be said. Treat people how you want to be treated. So if you call someone a racially descriptive name, don't be offended if someone says the exact same thing to you.

i dont think they do,i had a conversation with a room full of white guys, homeroom in hs i went to an all boys school and i was the only minority in the room, and of course they started shootin the race jokes, so i ask them do ANY of the white derogatory terms offend them, they all said no and laughed because they all sound stupid, they dont care about being called boy and they dont care about honkey cracker peckerwood redneck, none of that stuff mattered to them because it sounds stupid, its baseless name calling, theres no attachment to any of that stuff

pretty much the reason i don't go to shows any more. that guy with the mic...my god what a joke...people actually PAY to see that guy?

I cringe whenever I hear a black person call a white person "white boy". It's disgusting to me. There would be a problem if I was called a "black boy", so I'm not going to call another person a ____ boy.
