White Cement IV Returning Spring/Summer 2025

The peeling tongue and the edges were giving me 99 vibes but the off centered R tells me it's 2019 and even the back view of the tongue has that super tall/wide tongue from the 2019s. That pic made me wish they would do the BC's like this.. :nthat:

I was getting ready to post my 2016s for sale since I got the new ones, and I assume I am going to be in the far minority here, but I prefer the 2016s much more over the new ones.

To me, it's not important what the OG shape/angle/whatever else you can think of is...all I care about is the looks when comparing any retro to the original. If the shape of an OG (pick any model) is one way and then they retool it and the new shape looks better, I don't try to convince myself that the original is better just because it was the first. Whatever looks better in my opinion...looks better.

That being said, I didn't realize the two releases were as different as they are until I put them next to each other. For me, it's the spacing of all the "components." I think things are spaced better, and therefore the design flows better on the 2016s. The new ones seem too high. The biggest part is the guard on the lateral side. It's so high on the new ones, which makes the netting area look small, and it also affects the triangle "clip," which I am fairly neutral about between the two models. The curved areas near the toe also look a little better because of the lower profile. I didn't realize the netting was two different shapes, either! It's essentially a rounded pentagon on the 2016s and a rhombus on the new ones.

Obviously, this is just my opinion, and I expect it to be an unpopular one. No one asked for it, but I figured I'd share since I didn't realize the differences were so noticeable until I put my own side-by-side, and I didn't notice it in previous comparison pictures. I decided to keep my 2016s after all and keep one of the new ones as a fallback. As an on-foot look, I think the 2016s simply work better (plus I prefer the leather, too.)

You’ve been on this site far too long to have typed that.
