The ymca in my neighborhood is stupid expensive ($45/month). 24 Hour Fitness isn't as nice, but a lot more affordable.

My wife gets a good discount from where she works for a YMCA family membership, so we have a membership.

i have one...
ive been there everyday this summer....
working out, playing ball, swimming
its a new facility, with a skate park outside
and its beside a police station....
and half of it is a friggin library!
but, the women who go there are straight
and the pick-up games are pretty intense also....
YMCA FTW!

i work at the y...but were not a full facility...we have a gym and an outdoor basketball courts...were geared towards more for summer camps and child care

I don't have any gym memberships anymore. I used to have a 24 membership. Place was
It was ALWAYS empty so it was like my personal gym.
Then it closed down and I joined LA fitness. Wasn't the same cause I did most of my workouts at night. Canceled that.
Considering getting one at the Y though.

I used to work at the Y as a youth sports official, made minimum wage but had a free membership...
it was an older facility but the pick up games were intense and there was always 2 guys ready to go at it
