Why did the Vince Carter line fail?

I am aware that they didn't perform well in the market but aesthetically and performance wise they were top notch. The VC II is probably one of the bestbasketball sneakers I have ever had. In your opinion, what could have been done to extend the lifeline of the line as well as make the shoe more popular?

Because of the market...Sale's weren't good and never really were for shox...

But ya I really wish the line continued how it was going for 1-3..All original and great designs, with technology in mind...They only had like one hoody/shirtas well..I was pumped that VC had a line...

ps. you forgot the 5...

No, I didn't. It doesn't exist to me

.

The VC 1 and II are personal classics. If I could either in VNDS or DS, it'd be a wrap.

Shox bball shoes just didn't sell or perform all that well. With exception of a few-VC line, Stunner, BB4, etc. All others
were just blah. I didn't like how they all felt the same but just had different uppers. But VC 3 is the best imo.
And thanks for posting those commercials, I forgot about that Dr. Funk commercial.

I loved the I Low and the II and IV myself.

They kind of fell off when Vince fell off.

It's a shame on both accounts.

totally forgot what the Vs looked like...

I loved the VC I Low....

VC I - III are personal classics...waitin' on that VC2 retro...

Shox didn't sell well for basketball even though they were great performance shoes.

i still got the VC II white and red DS

VC II = Classic

Best Shox B-Ball shoe ever (well that or the BB4)

The same reason the LeBron line will eventually fail...the designs are terrible.

I don't know where you all live at, because the II and III were classics around my way.

IIRC, the other Shox shoes generally sell well.

Different people will have different experiences of the same shoe. Even going a size up, i found the VC1 ridiculously narrow.
The heel cushioning played havok with my knees and the forefoot cushioning caused me significant discomfort as well.

After that, i lost interest in anything Shox.

The REAL reason why VC's Line fell off is because he did first. After getting his signature line, Vince wuz pretty much injured and a forgotten man thatseason.

The Shox VC I and its commercial were dope -- but no one got to see Vince actually WEAR 'em in the League. Same goes for the VC II -- great shoe, butwithout a charismatic pitchman to sell them by actually WEARING them in season, who cared? J-Will (the white one) and Tyson Chandler wore 'em more thanVince did that season.

Compare that to the BB4 -- Vince went to the brink of the Eastern Conference Finals (Semi's, 7 games) -- and BB4s were everywhere, in every possiblecolorway.

If Vince never got injured/fell off/stopped dunking and caring, his signature line would've done much better.

Full Disclosure: I own (and luv) the BB4s, VC IIs and IIIs... and wish I'd copped the VC I's... AND I HATE Vince...

Agreed. My favs were the VC2 and the BB4. Here's Mr. Witness rockin' the 2s.

VC's shoes flamed out like his career. Skyrocketed to the top and then went downhill from there. No heart = no fans.
