There's so many ways to prepare it. How can people flat out say they don't like tofu?

First, there is baked tofu (dude, it looks like cubed ham bro):

Deep fried tofu! Taste like catfish man.

Scrambled tofu:

You can even blend silken tofu with pumpkin puree for a pumpkin pie filling.

That's all fine and good . . . but what does it taste like . . .

I can't trust a food that can be baked, fried, scrambled, AND a pie filling . . .

Is it sweet or salty . . . Pause

EDIT: In that last picture, is that ground beef in the tofu soup

isn't the whole purpose of tofu to be a meat alternative

Personally I don't think it tastes like much to begin with, it's kind of bland (like completely by itself) but that makes it versatile as well. I haven't had it in the ways in those pics, a lot of those look :hat

I don't have anything against it, but I've really only had it in Miso Soup. I would definitely try the dishes above

I guess it depends on who's making it, but I agree with you OP tofu is awesome. joint is like edible sponge put it any kind of stew or seasoning and it's yummy awesome goodness.

like miami said it really doesn't taste like anything if don't put nothing on it but if you put it in a stew or seasoning, it sucks up all the flavor. it does have a rubbery texture though like eating soft rubber toy tires kind of :lol. but it's good (if your into rubbery textured foods)

So basically flavorless cheese . . .

Hmm . . . I could see how it might be good in a stew or something . . .

What is tofu made from? What are its health benefits?

Haven't ever tried tofu before I thought only Veg's ate it for their source of protein

some of the health benefits

The health benefits of tofu as a meat substitute are numerous. Consuming tofu regularly helps lower bad cholesterol, alleviates symptoms associated with menopause and even lowers the risk of cancer. Other major health benefits of tofu compared to meat include making middle-aged bones stronger and delaying the ravages of age. Tofu has been found to be a great source of calcium and vitamin E as well. Tofu or soybean curd is produced by grinding soybeans to form a milk-like substance, which is then compressed and left to coagulate. After the mass has dried into a gelatinous solid, it is cut into palm-sized cubes. Since soybean is cheap and abundant, but rich in protein, the popularly known benefit of tofu is that of being the “poor man’s protein.”

I really like tofu and it really is versatile. In college I used to toss it in my spaghetti sauce as a decent meat replacement. I didn't do this for health reasons or vegan reasons but simply because tofu is cheap.
It was def hard for me to cook with, and can easily turn out super bland.
I wouldn't want to have tofu every day for every meal, but it's good to have now and then.

I only eat poultry, fish and vegs

I tried to mess with tofu but don't really like it (texture and taste). I've tried it in many type of dishes but can't really mess with it unless its scrambled or mixed into some type of dessert

MEEK- it really has no taste

tofu is really bland...which is why people who say they hate tofu don't make sense to me, cuz there's really no flavor to dislike...i guess maybe the texture/consistency

Dat (phyto)estrogen

Good luck with your reproductive health, boys.

and so is that fried tofu up there chilis and green onion. Tofu is great, but it can never take the place of meat for me (paws).

Don't mind having tofu every now and then.
To OP I've tried almost every dish you pointed 'dept the scramble and dessert tofu.
