I got paid yesterday and I go to check on my account just to see where I was at. My checking account balance comes up as $ -31 and some change. I knew thiscouldnt be right because I had about $150 in my checking account last time I looked which was about 2 days prior. I Go to the teller and ask for a statementand they hit me with 7 overdrafts adding up to $245 that day from purchases that I made last week

.I then call the bank and ask them to remove the overdraft fees and if I did in fact overdraft, they should only take the amount of moiney that Iwent over by, but if their ATMs showed me the correct amount I had, I would have never overdrawn. The teller told me the overdraft fees were non-refundable

. To make it worst that was money to fix my car

. I dont know what to do. I gotta switch banks

CLIFFNOTES
- went to the bank on payday
- had 7 delayed overdrafts
- told the bank to removed them because if the info was up to date I could have avoided it
- they say they are non-refundable

What's with all of these Bank Of America threads

Most banks let you get an adjustment twice a year you should call back

i've heard a lot of bad stuff about boa. all those big banks are thieves, i switched to a local bank but i need to close my boa account...

I dropped BOA because of a lot of BS. I went to Chase/Wamu.

Unless its a bank error man I hate to say it but you have to take the L. Bank of America is good for delayed process when it comes the account holder'sfunds. Not to mention how the rearrange the transcations from highst to lowest so it makes you overdraft your account and stick you with those fees.

CREDIT UNIONS FTW!!! Bank of America could shut down and I wouldnt care, I would rejoice

Try finding a bank that overs overdraft protection. Just that little extra would be the difference between all those overdraft fees and having your moneystill.

Or, make it a practice of keeping enough money in your account that it's never an issue.

yea man..any bank u go 2. especially now...are not refunding anything..I work at BBT...and if it wasnt bank error and normally its a 98.7 chance its not...thanu aint getting *$!% back

word, cuz i linked my CREDIT card to those mofo's cuz i learned my lesson,

If i ever get his with an overdraft my credit card will cover it so im not charged with an OD fee.

overdraft protection ftw.

and you think its the banks fault ? you think if u went to chase or wamu or whatever other bank that they not ARE going to let you slide when you overdraft ?

i hate Bank of America, one time i threatened to leave them, because i had an overdraft fee and customer service said if i got the negative amount in by 6PM myaccount wouldn't suffer a second fee, thanks to the ATM being touch screen and freezing, the money didn't register til 6:01PM! so the next day it wasstill negative, i went to close out the account, but they removed the fee to keep me from leaving. i never really use the account now.

I'll never trust national banks of any sort. My little local credit union has treated me like gold for nearly a decade.

its unfortunate. you're almost stuck with having to mess with the national banks b/c they're so convenient in so many areas, but their customerservice usually sucks and they try their best to suck all the money they can out of you

BoA overdraft protection is bs

but they overdraft fees policy isnt as bad as SUNTRUST..word to them adding 30-35 every week you dont pay the overdraft.

You can fight it. Back in 2006, a bunch of people sued BoA. BoA does this thing see....

Say you bought something last Sunday for $10, and then today (Thursday) you buy something worth $100..BoA holds on to smaller transactions until you make alarger transaction in order to let the bigger one through first...most of the time causing overdraft fees, ie.. more money for them

Anyways, i recieved a statement in the mail saying that they (BoA) lost a court case which would cease them from commiting such a practice, and at the sametime, they are not suppose to allow charges to go through to your account if you do not have the available funds. That includes items waiting to be posted toyour account.

That was last year when i recieved that statement, so maybe they changed their protocal once again. But try again to see if you can have atleast 1 or 2 ofthose overdraft fees removed. It's happened to me and my girl and many others i know.

And by all means, leave BoA...i have been with them since 97', and tomorrow will be my last day with them. I'm fed up with bogus charges

Thats what they did to me! They held the little transactions until a big one when thru and got me. Thanks man. Imma have to call again and try to reverse thesituation.

they are soooo grimey!!!

theyll push transactions from yesterday in large amount thru, but stuff from 9days ago for like $3 is still processing after all the little stuff has gonethru...you're rolling around thinking you have more monies then you do, and boom! next thing you know that $3 transaction ends up costing you $35. Then youget hit with another overdraft fee for being in the negative when the first one hit. THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

never had a problem.

don't you guys use online banking?

or keep track of how much money you have/spend?

I haven't had any issues with BoA, but I am switching over to Wachovia. Just filled out everything online. Should have my package by next week and good togo and I will be shutting down my BoA accounts.
