I have a 05 545 and before I bought it I was looking at a 2001 M5, I think they're pretty awesome rides.

All the M5 has on the CTS-V are a bunch of useless gadgets for an extra 30k.

very impressive.........and for the price compared to a m5 or amg

My pops has both. E39 M5 and a 08 Aspin White M3. loves them bothe but the M3 gets more drives

I'm with OP on this one. I'd take a current M3 or the new CTS-V or the E39 M5 over the current M5 and that's not even factoring in the pricedifference.

word. i don't have an M3, but i do have a 325 coupe. if i had the doe, and was only choosing between the M5 and M3, i'm going with the 5.
why?
more power, same great handling, no huge blind spot (like i have now), and i can comfortably seat myself and my boys as i zoom around at ridickulous speeds.

I agree but the Caddi is much faster and a way better deal.
