Imo the absence of traffic found on nt and other larger forums benefits the site. i enjoy both but **@+ is run the way NT would be if it were optimized for mytaste.

Today's version of "general" is a sad substitute in many ways, but it's got a few redeemable qualities I suppose, when you overlook all the people trying too hard.
Still - nothing will beat the days when khlav and muscle were the coolest kids in town... at least, not that I can see.
They didn't simply become legends around here for ridiculous stories or going at other posters... instead, they actually had a sense of humor and some originality when posting things. You actually felt intimidated to follow posting them b/c you didn't want to kill the thread...
Now you just assume somebody else will do it if you don't, so it doesn't really matter.
Ah... oh well, enough reminiscing.
Its not that serious fam. THe general forum is not what it use to be, but it has its moments: The Mosh Girl revival. The two threads that had all the old NTpics posted in it. The outing of various scammers and the mayhem that ensues. The breaking up of relationships in threads. Pure beauty.

I kinda doubt that just because the "cool" people rotate out every few years. The prominent name of daily posters today I can remember when theywas young bloods and at that time it was a whole nother class of the in crowd. The people who over saturate/the cool crowd on NT will eventually reach apoint in their life when NT takes a seat wayyyy in the back of their life or they just get fed up with how the board is at the certain point in time....

Every year I think General is falling off but its always better than the following year.

Actually, S&T is the most consistent w/ the better regular posters/members. I'd say S&T > General > Music.
