Hell yes. It gave my near 6 year old HP desktop computer a new life practically.
I also added it to my Macbook via VMWare and works just fine.

Improvements I noticed right off the bat:

better response time (quick startup/shutdown)
better look and design (folders, control panels, taskbar, etc)
less "junk" software and extras in windows 7 that Microsoft has become well-known for
easier networking capabilities
stronger security (you can add on a separate antivirus & firewall/spyware blocker or just download microsoft security essentials for free)

so far I'm very impressed. XP is ancient, don't be like those idiots that stayed on IE 6 for like 5 years.

tried to upgrade from vista home premium to windows seven home premium, the upgrade almost finished and then it says "the upgrade was not successful, youwill now be reverted to your previous version of windows" or something to that effect. oh well, at least the disc from hp was free.
