Okay, so i went out and bought Case Closed seasons 1 and 2, and i try to play it on Windows Media Player. All of a sudden, this pops up:

Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.

Has this happened to anyone before? How do I install this decoder thing that it needs? This computer uses Windows XP and is about 6 months old if ithelps.

Try going to File -> Plug-ins... it might be included in an update you missed.

My WMP is on Vista...

sorry I couldnt help more.

It says that I have to buy the decoder add on for $14.99. Are you supposed to buy it?

VLC media player

Windows Media sucks

but if you must then search for that $15.00 decoder............ maybe you can find it wayyy cheaper

Nooooo, dont buy anything...just dL Divx decoder....its free

I use WMP and I have zero problems when I watch DVDs on my computer. I heard VLC was nice, my boy Rick has it, but I'm good with Media Player. I alreadyknow where everything is at and what not.

If you can't find the solution, just download VLC.
