Windows Vista FTL...Since when must I pay for Microsoft Word?

Do i really need to pay for this **$%?
Apparently I just opened it up and it says my trial is expired and i have to buy a new product key

I couldve sworn that word was free on windows XP though..
Like it would come fully loaded already
 
use openoffice my friend....its not exactly like ms office but it gets the job done and its free
 
^^ +1 to open office, its a great free suite of programs exactly like MS office and it is actually a lot more like office 2003 with at least for me is waybetter than 2007... Open Office site
 
college issued laptops with all this mess (microsoft office, symantec, etc) paid for/pre-loaded and free updated to newer versions FTW

I think it comes included with when you buy generic crap from dell and xp and all that pre loaded stuff
 
i had that same problem when i bought my comp a few years ago. i just use the word processor. it lacks some of the formatting as Word but it gets the job done.
 
just google for microsoft office 2007 BLUE

it's the OEM/developers version which requires no serial keys.
