Who got theirs taken out? What was your experience like and how long did you take to fully heal?

I took out 2 at a time. As long as you have an oral surgeon that doesn't **** around, preferably in his 30's-40's and is just in and out...it'll take 5-10 minutes.

Don't go with a really old dude whose gonna make you sit there for 30 minutes...trying to talk to you the whole time.

I heal slow so pain subsided for me after about 6 days.

Swelling was around normal in 2 weeks.

I got perc's so I was gravy.

You go in, get knocked out, take them out, you wake up, take the painkillers ASAP, then chill.

It's kind of a toss up how long it takes or how bad it is. My brother has a higher tolerance of pain than I do and he was in absolute agony for days. Meanwhile, I was dying the first day even with the painkillers, but by the next day it wasn't that bad. Another day of painkillers, then just Tylenol or Aleve for the pain.

Face was swollen for 4-5 days, but nothing crazy. Make sure you clean and rinse your mouth and keep food out while you're healing.

if its the top 2, its nothing(did it last thursday). the bottom two, i hear is extremely painful.

general anesthesia is the way to go. Get KO'd and when u wake up, it's over. I only had two (top), so my recovery wasnt that bad.

I got all four pulled out at once. Didn't get painkillers till 30 mins after.. first time I've cried from pain since I was a kid. It also took about 7 days to heal.
It's been a year and the holes where the teeth use to be are almost fully closed

I had all 4 of mine taken out, I worked an 8 hr shift 2 days later so not too bad. I had a hard time eating for awhile tho

I have 5 wisdom teeth and one has a cavity and is chipped open so its causing me EXTREME pain im dreading my appointment with the surgeon

Just got two taken out last week and it was a breeze not even a lot of swelling or blood.

So..I was talking on the phone, and I randomly had a piece of one of my top wisdom teeth fall out...YES IT JUST FELL OUT. It doesnt hurt or anything, but the piece of the tooth is black, like its a dead tooth. I heard its gonna hurt even worse to have it pulled now. Im trying to keep it clean until I can have it done...can anybody shed some light on my situation?

I had 5 taken out last year.

My mom is a dental assistant, so she knew how to kill the swelling, so a lot of people didn't even know that I had them taken out until I told them.

I had all 4 taken out at once...looked like Kanye after the accident for about a week...wasn't too bad...think I was eating solids after like 2 days...I was waking up in the middle of the night taking pills tho because of the pain...

I had a chunk of something in one of my holes to that dude couldn't get out...my left side was a lil swollen for like a month after until it finally came out on its own...

Aren't there only 4 wisdom teeth? I got the one on the bottom left taken out...worst pain ever. I was under local anesthesia, and I could actually hear the sound of my tooth being cracked and pulled out...I shed an Indian tear. The left side of face of swollen after, had me looking like kanye after his accident.

my two bottoms ones are popping out, sometimes it hurts, and most of the time i get food stuck in there

we don't have insurance anymore but was planning on taking them out this summer..im scared as hell because i have sensitive teeth

then i watched an episode of True life about how some kid was getting his wisdom teeth taken out and something went wrong with the general anesthesia and he became like paralyzed or something...that got me shook

Do dentist sometimes lie about needing ur wisdom teeth out? Because about 3 years ago I was told I need mine removed or they would cause me pain and 3 years later no pain....

I had them out either the summer after high school ended or the summer after my freshman year of college. Can't remember.

In any case, my experience was smooth despite two of my teeth being impacted. I was awake for the procedure which was rather unpleasant but not unbearable.

I was fully healed in a little over a week. No big deal really.

not painful at all. had all 4 taken out at 4 different times.

ate the next day no problem, no swelling, no pain, no meds.

Not always.

Some people like me had/have supernumerary teeth, which are extra wisdom teeth.

Some people had/have less than four because they haven't or won't develop all four wisdom teeth.

My wisdom teeth on the bottom seriously are facing on a sideways angle. Ive never seen anything like that..

the damn dentist says that the top ones are grown in perfectly, but they have to pull those out too because they will eventually fall out if they don't have any bottom teeth to support them.

Has anyone ever heard this before?

And do you recommend being put to sleep or just taking an injection? Im scared to be put to sleep because of them damn shows or movies where someone is put under but they could feel all the pain but cant do anything about it

had all 4 taken out at the same time. I was in heavy sedation so I didn't feel a thing during the whole procedure. Afterwards I was woozy as @@++
