Wisdom teeth?

the damn dentist says that the top ones are grown in perfectly, but they have to pull those out too because they will eventually fall out if they don't have any bottom teeth to support them.

And do you recommend being put to sleep or just taking an injection? Im scared to be put to sleep because of them damn shows or movies where someone is put under but they could feel all the pain but cant do anything about it

Get a good oral surgeon and get it taken out in under 10 minutes and you won't need to be put to sleep. Some patients die cause of being put under, but you don't need that anesthesia, especially if you don't have insurance.

It didnt hurt at all for me. I didnt even take vicodin like that either.

Definitely. US dentistry is very invasive - and propagates the story that you must have your wisdom teeth removed. Sure, they can become impacted and painful - but that is only a minority of cases. If you leave them alone they often don't need anything done.

I got one taken out in Iraq with a pair of disinfected pliers from the motorpool with nothing stronger than tylenol to kill the pain.  So that one pretty much sucked, but it got infected and had to come out.
The other two I got taken out stateside, nothing really to note.

4 at once, didnt come to until i was home and woke up and felt like i was punched in the mouth. took vicodin for 3 days then was ok after that and back to normal within a week. Vicodins a cool drug, mom had to hide it from me cuz i kept asking for it lol

it's easy and laughing gas is great so make sure they give that to you.
i got 3 taken out and had a quick recovery.  the swelling is the worst part.

I got all 4 taken out...1 day, 1 cavity, by myself, lite anesthesia, no sleep, no pain... I aint go night night +*+#*

Yes, some really want to pull your wisdom teeth out.  I went to a dentist last week for a regular cleaning and they said I have a cavity in a wisdom tooth and they wanted to pull it.  I asked them to just fill it, but they said they prefer to pull wisdom teeth because they're hard to clean.  I never had any pain or issues with the tooth and I told the dentist I would prefer if she just filled it... she eventually gave up trying to to convince me to let her pull and she filled it.  After she filled it she said I wont have any issues with it (lol, just 20 min prior she was acting like it was must that it be removed).

I had all 4 of mine taken out, they were all impacted, but I was knocked out and honestly the swelling is worse than the pain you feel...I had an ice pack wrapped around my face for a few days, and I didn't take more than 2 oxycontin pills for it but I was cool in like 4-5 days

QFT. I've had my bottom 2 and 1 on the top taken out. I didn't even go under, just got some freezing and it didn't feel anything except for a little pressure when he was taking them out. The bottom ones are a bit worse, but i was eating normally 2 days later. And I had no swelling at all. I had to get mine taken out because I had braces, the dentist said he didn't want to risk having my teeth get messed up from the wisdom teeth coming in.

Honestly the only thing painful about the experience was eating the first 3 or 4 days... As long as you're on the meds, you should be fine... at least I was.

I blazed that night after getting them taken out.

I've been putting off getting mine removed for almost 5 years now, and no pain for me either.

I've been putting off getting mine removed for almost 5 years now, and no pain for me either. 

It's not necessarily about pain though...

Although I'm sure they could fabricate or embellish just like the pain situation, another reason for getting them removed is because it can crowd your mouth and cause your teeth to shift over time

the dentist gave me too much Novocaine and my blood pressure dropped crazy low.

i got all 4 of mine taken out at the same time, didn't get the knockout gas. all they did was numb my mouth and i watched them yank out one by one. one of my wisdom teeth were barely grown in and dentist was just hacking at it for like 15 minutes straight. didn't end up like a chipmunk either. gave me a 20 for being a solider though

Got all 4 taken out on saturday. They gave me some pill and laughing gas but I was still awake the whole time. Swelling isn't too bad since I've been icing my face. Went to work today and people were shocked I was able to work.

Really isn't that bad as long as you take care of yourself and rest but everyone is different of course.
