What rivalry?

Remember when LeBron James said there was no rivalry between the Wizards and the Cavaliers? DeShawn Stevenson was asked about that comment Monday afternoon, on the eve of the rivalry's first 2009-2010 incarnation.

"He's the Golden Child, he's gonna say that," Stevenson said. "He has a lot of stuff to lose. I don't. I don't care."

In other words, we're still allowed to milk this thing for Web hits. Later, Stevenson talked about how Cleveland had 40-some wins a year ago. The number was actually 66. Close enough. And the bearded, duck-tailed one was asked about ex-teammate Antonio Daniels possibly signing with the Enemy in Ohio.

"I have nothing against [Daniels] as a person," Stevenson said. "It's just that jersey and that person that's over there."

Williams said it's too early to get completely wrapped up in the intensity of a game.

''We look at it as a big game. It probably has a little bit more edge to it than other games. They're going to be more intense,'' he said. ''We're going to be more intense because we want to win obviously, but rivalry? I wouldn't say [that]. Boston's more of a rivalry in my opinion.''

this is a new year, and the Wiz are a new team.. and IMO a better one than the Cavs.

i think we take this one and shut them up in Cleveland

Wizards will win, no question, expect a blow out and the Wiz Kids still not getthe deserved respect on your favorite sports channels.

The Wizards are going to put a Raptors-style beatdown on this team. Mo Williams will continue to choke against decent teams because, well, he just plain sucks.

Wizards - 109
Cavs - 98

Lebron will get his but he won't get much help from anyone else. Wiz will get the W, Gilbert will have 30 plus.

I'm not a CAVS fan and I hope they bomb miserably so I can see Lebron in Brooklyn but...you don't really believe that do you?

Fixed.

Understand, I know they beat an 0-2 team (Nets at the time) but Arenas had 32 points and didn't even play the whole game, still had 7 assist so hewasn't hogging the ball... at least 5 Wizards players I believe had double digit points and even Blatche had a new career high.

When healthy the Wizards were always a better team than Cleveland you might even stretch it to say they are evenly matched.

The only glaring advantage the Wizards had in the past was that they were coached better.... they are DEFINITELY better coached now. I'm interested to seehow this goes.

I have the Washington by 10. Arenas and Blatche are going to put on a repeat performance of Saturday.

Wizards are tough this year. I hope people keep sleeping on them. The Hibachi is back, and for this game I def see Andre being a big factor. I hope Potato headputs Anderson Varejo on him.

Do yall cats really believe in what yall say, or, are yall really that delusional.

"What we talkin bout". Just wait until the Cavs jell, and Shaq knows the offense

What offense? Stand around and pray LeBron makes it offense? I'm sure Shaq knows how to figure that out.

The Cavs and learning offense don't belong in the same sentence. They have one of the worst offensive systems in the league. Yall know what Charles Barkleybe saying every week.

Must haven't watched our games or know the game of basketball cause Shaq looks completely lost in the offense, the $+#%@ himself has said as much

The Wizards are light years away from last year, and I can see them making a nice run in the playoffs, but there's still no interior D. I can see Bronhaving 40 and Shaq having 20+ if he decides to play. If the Cavs don't listen to Mike Brown we should be fine. I will say, though, if the Wiz catch firefrom outside we're going to have a hard time tonight. And if anybody on either team says this isn't a big game, they're lying.
