i dont understand why anyone is giving advice to OP to go talk to the guy unless this newidiot is directly affecting him. Let dude crash and burn on his own. Its not your problem to save or fix him.

If you have an unstable workplace then YES it does affect you directly.

I would say to just leave it alone, if he tried to talk to you just keep a firm face when he says the inappropriate things or anything like that.

OP didnt give any specific examples of what the guy is doing so what exactly is "unstable"? telling inappropriate jokes is not enough to want to get someone fired.

sorry, i was unclear.

im of the opinion that its not worth getting involved if it doesnt affect me personally. if dude wants to act like a moron, its not my responsibility to try and set him straight or tell him whats up. now if his moronic actions do have a direct negative effect on me, THEN I would do whatever is necessary to remove dude from the workplace so I dont have to deal with that BS anymore.

Is your office farm cellmate's behaviour reflecting badly on you? Is he asking you or luring you into inappropriate behaviour or is it rubbing off on you?

Just watch your own butt, seems like he is spooling out enough rope to hang himself in due time...

No need to play office cop/snitch/enforcer unless you are his superior.

Is he still in his probationary stage of employment? Unless he has friends in high places if he irks enough people you won't have to do anything.
