Any of you guys ever worked at finishline as a stock person..If so how was it? I recently got an offer from them but currently have a job at the moment but I dont want to turn the job offfer down especially if I can get 30% off.

I just found out my current job pays abt $2.50 more per hr than fnl..I would like to work both jobs but Im also a full time student. But i guess it depends on how much hours finishline wants me to work. It would be perfect if i can work like 1x a week just so i can get that discount lol

I worked at Finish Line back in the day. It's retail. Unless your other job is retail or really is the dumps, I'd stick with it.

I used to work there....it wasn't all that bad. 

The only real issue is they sometimes literally FORCE you to be overly freindly and kiss - *$+ to customers to sell those little side products like cleaner, shoelaces, etc. (the !%$ we know nobody gives a #%%$ about)

Other than that, the discount is the sweet deal and the pay is whatever....sometimes long days can be rough, but I'd take it brutha

I've been with the company for a while now, started out in the stockroom though. It really depends on the store you work in. If you got a bad store manager who doesn't really care you'll be back there overwhelmed. It can get repetitive, boring, and tiring especially if you go in early and clear a whole shipment. All-in-all its really not that bad and you could always move up. Oh and stock guys get raises significantly faster than everyone else... you just gotta be good. Oh and yea you could definitely handle it as a second job. 3 days a week ain't bad. Discount is worth it (when they don't restrict them) and it's a chill environment.

oh and $60k isn't uncommon for a store manager

This isn't really rare. With bonuses and commissions a lot of store managers of busier locations can make this.

for the releases that you do get discounts for you get a chance to reserve yourself a pair as an employee right?

Working there right now. Holding shoes depend on the release. If it's a big release like the XIs, my manager makes us get in line, but we can get our tickets early. We just have to show up when they start selling. Smallish-medium like the Xs, we can hold a pair for ourselves. You don't get a discount on big releases.

A few things that piss me off: when customers make you grab 6 shoes and end up not buying crap.
Another is when they make a big deal about having to buy the display shoe.

"Oh, but a buncha people have touched it!" You buy produce? A buncha people have touched those too, and you have no choice but to buy that. !@@! outta here.

Finishline is working to be more of a shoe fitting company where they try to find what kinda use you're gonna be doing, how you step, and how your foot is shaped whereas Champs and Footlocker is more just "Can I get a size for this?" "Sure" You gotta know your $%+%.

if its just stock..keep it.. just tell the store manager..you cant work too many hours..because you're a full time student..

Bro... Working stock is the beesknees fambs... Real life...

First off, they're hiring you as stock only, which means its a pretty nice sized store... So you don't have many other responsibilitiesbesides stock

Once you get the hang of the job, its a breeze. You can knock your work out fast, or stretch it out to get hours.

You get the discount, and you are bawsedog when it comes to the kicks...

That means you can hide everything anywhere and be in no rush to cop until YOU'RE ready.

If you do your work promptly, you may work around 15 hours a week... The most hectic day being shipping. You prolly would work busy days like saturdays to keep the associates from searching and wasting time in the back.

I've worked in footaction, footlocker, hibbet sports, and finishline at one point since 2007...

I've been store manager, assistant manager, sales association, and stock...

Stock is the chillest of them all because you don't have to hit certain numbers when it comes to selling...

All you gotta to is keep the stock room in order and make it easy for people to find shoes.

Take the job, and try to work around both around each other cuz the stock job isn't going to be a bunch of days... Just one or two long days out of the week...

Worked sales not stock over the Christmas season this year. Worst job I've ever had. Manager was a $%^%, real company brown noser. Fired me over the Concords on that shady steez. If you move up to the floor be ready to push accessories and cleaners. You can have the top shoe sales numbers around, but if your accessories and insole sales are low, be prepared to hear it. Hated the manager, the people, the job itself. Terrible. Stockers seemed to have it made pretty easy though.

I'm a sales associate at Finishline. I like it, its a fun job, manager is real cool. They do push for accessories a lot, but it isn't impossible to reach.

also 60k for a manager seems reasonable.

except store managers arent on commission of any type whatsoever.  so no it strictly depends on location.  I currently work at FL and hate it

Working stock was cool, listened to music during my shift and didnt have to deal with customers.

However Finishline as a company sucks.
