I was wondering if anyone here has worked at a Nike store as a specialist. I was thinking about applying for a second job but wanted to get some idea of what it was gonna be like. Also if there are any good benefits or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Maaaan, just run away

. No discount newly launched Jordans. You're basically treated like a regular customer so there really is no real incentive to work there. You even have to fight to get new releases. Smh..work there for a paycheck and not an advantage to get shoes. Just my take....

40% disco on everything else though

It's like any other retail job. The discounts are cool but do you really wanna work to just give them all the money back?

Get the job.

Work for 90 days.

Shoot me your employee #.

Let me ball out @ the ES down here.

kthx.

as a 2nd job, it's actually great, IMO.

I worked there as a 2nd job. the discounts, along w/ the swoosh account were great. I Have so much Nike apparel from my time there it's not even funny. since my Nike paychecks were pretty much play money anyway.

Definitely don't rely on this as your main source of income. I guess if you're still in high school go for it.

2nd job..maybe. Even then it's a reach.

As mentioned, no disco on new releases, everything else is 40%, Outlets 30% and you get comps every now and then.

Not sure if I'm taking the post too literal, but as a specialist it would be tough to have it as a 2nd job.

To my knowledge, specialists are regular full time/35-40 a week positions. Not part time 15-20ish hour per week types (not sure if you meant it that way OP).

As a regular athlete, part time as 2nd job? It can be a DECENT source of supplemental income depending on your pay rate. Discounts aren't what they once were though.

worked retail for about 5 months, i love it cus i needed a part-time job, and being surrounded by hobbies of mine (shoes, sports, basketball) is good. the people are chill as hell, and what i love most are the PK meetings, where im pretty much always guaranteed to bring something home. i've meet some pretty cool people and although the discounts arent the best, it's still better than nothing.

i guess working retail has its pros and cons, customers can sometimes be a %%#$# but i've learned to get past that.

to conclude, i love working at nike. it's exactly what i want right now in a job; nothing serious, fun, chill

The discount ain't what it used to be. IMO, it's not even worth working there anymore. Been there off and on over the past 11 years, and it's getting annoying. But if it's what you want OP, go for it, you've been forewarned though
