Sounds nice man.

Can you please elaborate on the requirements for hiring and what type of positions are available for entry level (w/College Degree and at least $35,000). I'm considering finding a new company to work for since I need a bit higher on the pay scale.

Awesome perks, but they don't pay much and they have a super flat organization structure which makes it really difficult to move up. Fun for a couple years, then on to bigger and better things.

Yeah. The process you have to go through to even get an interview in person is

plus, you gonna spend 70 hrs a week there and have no time for yourself outside of work. it's cool if you like that kind of work environment.

Capone - I've been there since April
Analytical - They have positions in everything from A to Z. Pay scale starts at 36K and has no ceiling. Goes up at levels of I wanna say 18%.

In terms of J&J, its such a large corp that really any degreed person can find a niche. Whether it be clinical studies, the sales and marketing side. The IT department, yadda yadda yadda. I'm just a regular guy, went to Rutgers Univ graduated w/ a BA in Poli Sci. Before I joined J&J i worked for enterprise rent a car. J&J seems to value your ideas and own personal drive more so than other companies that i have interacted with. The pay is good, and almost everyone is on a bonus structure. The big thing they push is accountability and building and protecting a global brand above everything else. A few of you may have heard about children's tylenol having flakes of metal in it back in the spring. Well the entire department that oversaw that operation was fired, because the small incidence rate threatened to put J&J's effort to have people associate them with quality and safety. Whereas many other companies would've chalked it up to an isolated incident, J&J shut down production at the Fort Washington, PA plant for like 2 1/2 weeks, figured out who was at fault and slashed a whole department in Raritan, NJ.

The biggest thing with getting a job at any major corp is to be prepared for your interview. Study the company and the position you are going for and connect your skills, talents and experiences to that position. I see a lot of us on here wanting to be in the corporate world, but everyone rolls into interviews and basically says check my resume instead of engaging the interviewer and making them say "hey we need this person in our company." You have to make them convince you, on why you should choose them as your employer, not why they should choose you as an employee.

I appreciate the informative response Live and Die. I'm leaning more so into remaining on the west coast for this company, for more personal reasons. I know of a Proctor and Gamble office also within Southern California. But are majority of the plants and offices out in the East Coast? Considering that, if granted a position do they also pay for relocation costs as well. Thanks again and I understand about the latter portion of your statement. It's the only reason why I'm working at my current job at the moment.

Analytical, Fully Global company. World Headquaters is in NJ, but we have sites in cali, indiana, florida, texas, mass, etc, various places in europe. They def pay for relocation fees, but you gotta remember, they aren't as likely to relocate a recent college grad as they are someone who is in a specialized field within the company.
