TOKYO —
The world’s oldest dog according to Guinness World Records has died in Japan at the age of 26 years and eight months.

Owner Yumiko Shinohara told reporters at her home in Sakura, a city outside Tokyo, that Pusuke, a fluffy tan Shiba mix, died Monday after suddenly falling ill and refusing to eat.

R.I.P. Damn, a dog born in the mid 80's still alive in 2011, unreal.

i have a feeling he couldve lived longer if it wasnt for the radiation........

I wonder what its diet was? I'm sure it wasn't manufactured kibbles & bits or stuff like from over here

At least it died quickly it sounds like. It'd be different if the owner kept it alive suffering or having to change its diaper every hour.

the oldest dog in the world was 26? I thought it would be 50 or something. I guess it's pretty old but I've known plenty of dogs get to 20 so it doesn't seem that impressive.

The oldest dog ever according to the article was 29... that was like 70 years ago.

My dog lived to be 20. She kinda slowed down the last couple of years but when it was time to go, it was quick.. RIP

all we are is dust in the wind

Japan has the highest amount percentage of centenarians based on population so this doesn't surprise me that the dog lived that long. advanced aging is nothing to them.
