that's because it's more than just a gaming console. What were you expecting from the reviews that you didn't hear? of course they're going to review every aspect of the Xbox One from the Kinect commands to the controller. There's reviews for each individual game too btw

Don't get too excited brahs. That is a rumor from July. But I think 343 were dropping hints all summer that they know they goofed making Halo 4 a sequel gameplay wise to Reach rather than Halo 3. And that it will be addressed in the next Halo.

Adam Sessler gave it a 2/5. I like Adam. But gaf as of last week hated his guts because he said resolution didn't matter and was complaining about something on twitter. Now he's the king of reviews because he didn't like ryse.

I'm so tempted to bring back my Cod Ghosts hardened edition, cancel the rest of my pre orders, and go ALL digital to get the instant switching benefit. That 500gb hard drive scares me though.

Btw for those wondering it looks like they're offering exclusive in game content in the digital versions of the collector editions to make up for the physical items you would normally get from buying a hard copy.

Still getting it once the inevitable christmas discounts come around.

Those graphics are too damn good for me to ignore.

Hopefully this is a lesson learned for Crytek.

It worked for Ubisoft. They made the most repetitive game i have ever played (Assassin's Creed 1) into one of my favorite games of all time (Assassin's Creed 2).

So I misunderstood what all the noise about the xbox one's optical port was about yesterday morning, I thought people were pissed cause the xbox one was limited to 5.1 but it turns out we're not even going to have 5.1 at launch.  The post below was from an MS employee that posted on neogaf.

Dolby Digital is coming post launch. This was a SW scheduling issue pure and simple, and I know people are disappointed, but we will have it. 

Anyone with an HDMI receiver should be fine, as we pass the uncompressed 5.1 and 7.1 through HDMI as well as DTS. Even if you have a Dolby only HDMI receiver (which I'm not sure exists), you will still get 5.1 or 7.1 sound since those receivers should accept uncompressed surround. 

For the Dolby only headsets, my understanding is that these will work but you will only get stereo audio since we only pass Stereo and DTS through the optical port. I have not tested this myself, but I'm told it works. Regardless, I understand this is an inconvenience, but again we're going to have Dolby coming.

This is unrelated to the HDMI-IN "Surround Sound" beta. To clarify, we default HDMI-IN audio to be converted to Stereo. However, we do have a feature you can access in TV settings/Troubleshooting that enables Surround Sound in "beta" form. If you check the box, and you get Surround, you're golden. We found some inconsistencies in STB's during testing and decided to disable it by default to insure a good initial setup experience for people.

Most of the people disappointed are like me and have an astro mixamp that uses 5.1 or 7.1 audio for virtual surround sound.  Astro has already said that their products will work with the xbox one but it would just be using stereo audio as opposed to dolby digital.
