Earlier this morning, Young Thug was arrested by U.S. Marshals for an “outstanding warrant charging him with terroristic threats.” Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams [sic], was arrested around 6 a.m. in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The arrest follows an incident that occurred within jurisdiction of the Dunwoody police.
Legally, the technical definition of a terroristic threat is, “a threat to commit violence communicated with the intent to terrorize another, to cause evacuation of a building, or to cause serious public inconvenience, in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror or inconvenience.”
Jim Joyner—spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Forcetaken—says Young Thug will be taken to the DeKalb County jail for his bond hearing.
Officer Tim Fecht of the Dunwoody Police Department sent us a statement, explaining: “The Dunwoody Police Department with the assistance of the US Marshals arrested Jeffery Lamar Williams AKA ‘Young Thug’ on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 for the offense of Terroristic Threats(F). The offense is the result of a dispute that Mr. Williams had with Perimeter Mall Security on July 7, 2015.”
The warrant reads: “The accused threatened to shoot victim in the face with the purpose of terrorizing Mr. Chris May.” According to the report, May is the Director of Security at the Perimeter Mall, and the threat was made after Young Thug was being escorted out of the mall.
