Just when we thought Mafioso rap all but died in the mid 90's Nas came through and gave it back some life...

"This ____ really used the Sopranos themesong!?"

I was about to say, if Raekwon is not mentioned in this thread then you FALE!
OB4CL = Mafioso rap.

I embedded Kool G. Rap too, but it didn't embed.

Kool G Rap perfected Mafioso rap....Not Raekwon!

One of the greatest story tracks EVER told....

This joint is the epitome of "You can't rap harder than me"

So I snuck up on the sucker
Put my gun to his head, "Wassup now mutha _____?"
He said, "Wait, I wanna talk..."
*pop* *pop* *pop*
I put his brains on the sidewalk
Another life I had to waste
He fell on his back, And then I spit right in his guinea face
He saw the barrel of the devil's gun
Now they no longer got a brother on the run

Livin' the live of rowdy, Packin 50 calis
Rockin lizard ballys while we do our drug deal in a dark alley
Up in casinos, Just me and my Dino Primo
Pushin Beam-os, Then parlay in Reno with two fly latinos

Dudes were so pissed this remix didn't make it onto the 4,5,6 album.

You had to dig and dig just to find it on some random cassette tape mixtape back in the day.

That is the OG version.

Or you mean Fast Life? I didn't like the OG version.

Plus Funk Flex used to play the remix way more back in the day on the radio. Sounded way better.

East coast in the 90s had that Mafioso sound on lock

Nas & Az - Mo Money, Mo Murder, Mo Homicide

"My calibre, got me thinkin on a higher algebra
See me I'm just as foul as ya
but you ain't got no style in ya"

Mobb Deep & Cormega

"when Rikers Island ciphers are incomplete
When I can sleep, with no heat, hidden beneath the sheet
And I can relax with my air max, appearing on my feet "

Sees Affirmative Action has already been posted...leaves thread...

^ That wasn't the OG. That's the album version.

The OG had the horns and Buckwild produced it, that's the one I put up.

Didn't make the album cause he couldn't get the sample cleared. So he used another beat.

Here...its on here.

Thanks for puttin me on.
I heard that version before,
but the album version beat &
flow go hand-in-hand (or hand
& hand).

It's kinda off to me. When I first heard it, even then sounded a little off.

Then I heard the OG on Endangered Species and I was like "Aha!! I was right!!"

The OG beat and his flow were too perfectly matched, he even catches his breath to the beat...and Pun never lost his breath when he rapped!!

I got that special ear when it comes to rap I guess.

Kool G Rap with "Ill Street Blues" is one of my favorites, his other works is also nice. Basically Kool G and Rae for my personal favorite Mafia rap.
