Can't wait to visit here. All of the places like this I want to visit are in war-torn countries. But I'll be damned if I never see them in person!

A little bit of back story as this is my city. Those are in place of the buildings that were destroyed in the earthquake last February. They are a "re-start" for the city, even though much of it is still closed due to the hundreds of demolitions of commercial buildings that still need to take place.

To me that building is like a Bugatti Veyron. Sure its the biggest, fastest, or in this case tallest, but when it comes to overall design, it's just not that great at all. It's as if they just wanted to make a tall building. It lacks creativity and inspiration to me, as far as design.

^^ Burj Dubai is alright. I mean the feat of building it is pretty insane, but it's kinda meh to me style wise.

King Xerxes' palace in Persepolis, Iran.

Ever since I learnt about Alexander the Great in Classical Studies at high school I've been dying to go here.
