Your Next Vacation Destination.....?

I was told by a few of my friends & family members back home that I must try this local fastfood spot called Al Baik. I spotted one location behind the Mosque on Monday so I kept it in mind but yesterday I saw one right next to the Makkah Tower.

We went in today only to find out that they have a limited 1 item menu. I knew something was up when I didn't see a menu & just saw the same nuggets/fries/soda being advertised on all the screens. Cashier told us to check the one I saw earlier. We got there & again something. Walked a mile just to be told they also have the same 1 item menu. We bought that & it was really good.

The cashier said if we taxi it the one with a full menu is about 5 kilometers out but he also told us they have a full menu location about a block down from the clock tower. I didn't get my hopes too high because sometimes things tend to get lost in translation but thankfully the building he told me did indeed have a full menu. I went with the chicken filet sandwich, Shrimp sandwich & big baik. Saving the Big Baik for later. Well worth all the walking & waiting because this was the best food I've had here. Chicken & shrimp were perfectly fried & so tender. I plan on taking about & hundred dollars worth of it back home to NY when I leave in a couple of days .

Hawaii is so damn nice. How long are you staying our there?

I was out there for 5 day in May and that definitely wasn't enough time. Missed out on half of the things that I wanted to do because I coming across other places.

We came in yesterday leaving on Wednesday. So about the same as you.

We have 2 whole days of doing things outside of Waikiki starting tomorrow.

Feels good to be home

Nice. Enjoy it man. Do you still have alot of family out there?
A lot less now, unfortunately. Had some sell and move to the mainland, and some pass away.

My oldest family member is here tho and that’s my great grandma. She’s in her 80’s. This may be my last time seeing her at home and in my childhood home.

Damn that sucks, I know Hawaii is expensive and pricing out alot of their residents. You know it's bad when you're looking to California to find a more affordable situation.

Glad you had the opportunity to visit her. Also, your family is young as hell with your great grand mother being in her 80s. Both of my grandma's are currently approaching 80.

In Flagstaff Arizona for two days. Going to see the Grand Canyon, anyone have any suggestions besides that?
East of Lechee, AZ is Antelope Canyon. Last I read it does require a permit to be obtained inorder to visit. I've never been myself but man, it looks beautiful in pictures on Google.

Mecum & also Barrett Jackson have crazy car auctions going on all the time in AZ...if you're a car guy you might be able to catch an auction ot two.

Walked over 50 miles over the past 3.5 days in 90+ degree weather. These dogs are starting to BARK. Amsterdam tomorrow.
Amazing pictures. Looks like you're having a blast & staying in shape, lol 👍. That exquisite chandelier- is that in Palace of Versailles? You go into any rooms...I've been told the doorways are small almost tiny since people were a lot smaller back then & not fat. I've heard they don't display the real Mona Lisa painting all that often anymore for fear of theft/vandalism by tourists but put a near identical replica in it's place.

Photos from walking the strip last night. I haven't sweated some much in the evening since the last time I've been to Vegas.

I never knew Vegas had gondolas, lol...that's a manmade river I'm assuming? That Buddha & the golden shrine surrounding it looks dope. Very intricate artwork. And damn, Vegas is one BRIGHT city! lol

Yeah, the row boats are in the Venetian. First time seeing it for me too. The Buddha shrine came out of no where. Agreed, it was very well done.

The lights and various architecture is my favorite part of Vegas, even though they're really a bunch of duplicates. It's also alot more family friendly compared to when I was a kid so it felt safe as hell in the strip, just had to dodge the random showgirls asking for money after photos.😅
