I followed the directions and then played it back again just looking at the different faces. It seems like the really unattractive faces are the ones that looked all distorted.

from my understanding you're subconsciously more drawn to the attractive person so your mind when faced with multiple people combines the most attracting features from the two one one side and least attractive on the other.
