Your THoughts on Franchises/Cities Being Cursed In Sports

Do you believe in these?

The Cleveland Browns are cursed IMO.

Just go look at the draft picks (besides Haden & Trent)

Go look at the amount of starting QB's and the amount of coaches since they have returned.

Pitiful.

They are cursed

Define cursed? Do you all honestly think that some supernatural force is putting that much stock in SPORT that he would waste his time in making sure that team doesn't succeed?

no curses only ****** play...this coming from a cubs fan.

2003- alou would not have caught that ball.

Maybe the best word is "unlucky"

I mean seriously.. Two #1 picks COMPLETE BUST. Tim coach and Courtney brown should be ashamed

Curse isn't a supernatural force. But the perception of a curse can effect the players and fans to the point that it encourages epic failure

When a cursed team is in a position to win (especially at home), and one little slip up happens, the entire fan base is tense, the players can crap out diamonds. Makes things much harder on the mind.

The mental aspect of sports cannot be understated. It's the difference between being Kobe and being Vince. It's why lebron will never be MJ.

I "axed" because I had a nice discussion with someone on Twitter about it.

No plug intended: "KidKash202"

You can see what I said, not trying to copy and paste

I don't believe much in supernaturals or w/e, but the Portland Trailblazers got a nice curse going in the NBA. Besides injuries going around like the cold, the Sam Bowie and Oden picks have to haunt them knowing who they could have had

cursed =/= bad management

a lot of team suffer from bad management, cursed is just a loser mindset

******** need to change the name. Hopefully the culture will follow.

Right, because they haven't had any success in the franchise history. Maybe the Dallas Cowboys should follow suit as well.

*I don't believe in franchises/cities being "cursed." I do believe in franchises being run well/poorly which has a direct correlation to success/failure rate in which their respective teams play.

+1.

Exactly what I was going to say... the PERCEPTION of a curse can effect the players, fans, and coaches. Even if there isn't one, the chance that there could be one there is in the back of every one's minds.

For example, the Minnesota Vikings had 5 turnovers in the 2009 NFC Championship Game to the Saints 1... and the game still went to overtime. In overtime, the Vikings never touched the ball as the Saints went into FG range and kicked the game winner.

Does the madden curse still hold true? Maybe not the past couple years but there was a good 8 guys too be on the madden cover that got hurt, played bad during that following season...
(in my lifetime) I never saw my eagles WIN a SB, we made it 2004, took a L

or maybe teams see the success of a player, and work their butts off to shutdown that player the next year. madden cover = target on your back

Since when does the term "cursed" cover the entire history of the franchise? The Skins are going on 2 solid decades of lukewarm pig-slop. Maybe they need to move physically back into DC somehow.

I don't feel like doing the double quote, but I think people are trying to oversimplify the discussion with the "bad management." There are freak plays, bad calls, untimely injuries, fan interference, etc.

Did the Browns change management when they moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens or did they just get the hell out of Cleveland?
