Zip Car

I'm thinking about using zip car to replace my main car instead of buying or leasing a car.

Ne1 ever have any experiences with them?

U pay hourly or daily for a car and u get a full tank of gas plus insurance coverage. So its like a lease but u only pay for it when u wanna use it

i think i saw a civic that said zip car on it and was wondering what it is...i mean if you use a car like once a month maybe worth it but everyday i dono...

man i'm checking out that classic car club and i'm in awe...all those cars you can drive...geez. maybe i'll join instead of using the money as a downpayment to omy dream car (which they have in there)

My wife and are I thinking of moving, and if we do (and its SF) we're for sure getting rid of the whips and using Zip Cars.

I've had a few friends use them, and their rates are fine and quality + service is above average.

I was thinking about signing up for the service.
They even have discounts for college students. I just was thinking about using them for when I'm on campus or using them to go around town/to the airport.

I was actually shocked to see them at my Alma Mater, which is definitely a smaller school in Northern CA.

I think the concept is awesome especially in city's with high density, bad mass transit and overall terrible parking situations. Zip Car has reserved spots and some lots.

Do they pick up/drop u off when u need a car?

I don't believe so, I see a ton of locations in SF.

It's not a full fledged rental service like you'd find at the air port.
