The "other brands" do the same thing and are just as difficult to get

True enough.

not sure why a restock could be considered a bad thing lol.

furthermore, it's been Nike's MO w retros for a while. it's more surprising when they don't restock.

Didn’t mean it was. It was late and I was tired when I posted so wasn’t exactly clear LOL.
It’s just annoying, these fake sellouts. As often as not, we don’t know what will be restocked and what won’t. That's all. I ended up buying from Sneaker Room as a result but if I knew Nike was gonna restock, I would've preferred to buy from NDC. But you're correct, it's really nothing new or a BIG deal.

Anyone in the SoCal area know of a boutique or spot with these to try on?
Reading about the brick feel, sounds like it's an insole issue unless Nike did something weird with the zoom.
Anyone with a sz 13 go up from size 12?

I already know size 12 doesn't work for me in these from the 2017s.
Since I need the unicorn size 12.5, Contemplating going up to a 13 and putting in a better insole which I'll need the extra room for.
But if it's one thing that will stop me from wearing a sneaker (like the 97s) is the heel slippage.
Trying to get it right before paying the resell tax etc.

It already has a thick, soft insole. I don’t think these feel like bricks at all, mine are nice and soft. They’re not like the Vomero 5, but they’re not bricks either.

Scooped up a pair from SNKRS today.. saw an 11 was the biggest and jumped on it. Mad they didn’t let the fam eat for the low.

Had to return my SNKRS pair since it fit a little big. Saint Alfred got 25% off so I took advantage of that.

To the guys who have both: How does thes compare to the 2017s? I remember trying the 17's in store and found them very comfy but the 24's I bought are almost on pair with AM97 and similar in stiffness. Are these way stiffer than the 17's or did my perspective just change during these years?

IMO they're pretty much the same. The only thing I replaced was this insole. I feel them to be better than the current ones

My pair was just delivered, super nice release. Was able to grab a pair of The fragments last night, looking forward to those too baby.

anyone know what the text on the side of the shoe corresponds to for the fragments? I’m old school and don’t have a single clue what that jibber jabber means lol

its basically the sku tag, but printed on the outside.

HF5455-100 = sku tag
HO24 = holiday 2024 release
MNSRUN-895 = men's running?

My two pairs from Sneaker Room just arrived. Wearing one now. I couldn't hit on the 2017s so I dunno but I did have a few pairs of the Ultra version and I remember those being much softer underfoot. I always figured they used the same sole tooling for the Ultras and regular versions, but maybe not?
Regardless, people calling these "bricks" must only be used to shoes that are super squishy. There's a good amount of squish right out of the box--under the heel, anyway. The forefoot cushioning is definitely firmer than the heel, but these are certainly softer overall than AM97 retros. I can see why people call THOSE bricks, though it doesn't stop me wearing them and I don't find them uncomfortable.

EDIT: Worn the Spiros for a good 90 minutes or so now running errands. Absolutely softer than 97s and seem to be getting softer with use. Forefoot breaking in, too, compared to the out of the box feel.
