zine software isway better looking that iTunes, but itunes is easier to use.

the zune web browser is garbage, but it's enough for casual surfing, the touch has a better browser since it uses the same as iphone.

but the zunepass is worth it id get the zune HD. I downloaded 1300songs for 15 dollars a month unlimited downloads plus 10 free songs to keep forever till u die per month. also it has HD radio

In terms of using the Zune HD for anything related to music; Zune> Ipod Touch. For everything else, Touch > Zune.

i like the zune just as much as the ipod but the software made my computer really really slow...i couldn't do anything while it was open cuz it just wasn't worth it...

I don't have a Zune HD but I can give you an opinion on the software.  I think the software has improved a lot.  I gave it a shot in 2008 and it was ridiculously slow, but I tried it recently and its really snappy.  I'd say compared to iTunes its probably as fast or maybe even slightly faster.  A few negatives for the Zune software are the lack of the "check/uncheck" option and the heart/broken heart rating system.

ZunePass is actually pretty good.  Its 15/month but, like drsfinest said, you keep 10 songs per month so you can think about it like you pay $1 for your 10 songs and the other 5 goes to "renting" an unlimited number of tracks.

more info on the software? i don't care anymore for ipod apps, and i want something diff, something fresh from my ipod touch. i just dont want an overly complicated software...simple drag and drop works fine for me

The vast majority of users aren't audiophiles and couldn't care less.
If you're an audiophile then neither the Zune nor the Touch even come close to the Sony Walkman X Series.
