I feel what you're saying... There were times during Sons of Anarchy & Breaking Bad when I thought it was too real but I felt it made it more authentic even when it was uncomfortable

Gotcha... I would think the logic/buying pattern applies to menswear. There's big name brands and smaller less well known designers and companies. Whether streetwear or menswear you could follow GQ or a big brand or go with what coordinates best with your style regardless of labels
