I used Angelus everything. Taped off the legos. Cotton ball + deglazer all over the boost. 2 coats black dye. Then mixed 50/50 matte black paint + 2 thin. 2 coats of that and that's it. Second day wearing them and no issues with the paint yet. Will see if that holds. Some notes.
1) I think you...
Here are my poor man's pitch blacks. Finished painting them the other day. Hopefully they hold up. I've yet to hear from anyone that has blacked out boost and worn them for 3 months. I'll report back once they have some wear in them.
I was the third from last pair they had available. I got a 12. Guy in front of me had a 9. The two guys behind me had an 8 and an 8.5. There was another 8 being held behind the counter (not sure why). My receipt says 2:05 so the dudes behind me were surely checked out well before 2:20.
Looking to do this to a pair and looking to find something that holds up well. Easy to find people painting them black but hard to find reports of how its holding up months later.
Did you go the Angelus Jet Black Leather Dye and then Flat Black Paint approach?
Anyone else in here blacked out...
I'm not sure which is a better system. The splash page can be backdoored. Personally I have a better record without the splash. And so far I'm kinda into this new cart holding thing. We'll see how I feel about it once we have larger sample size.
