The College Basketball Post

Props to Duane Notice winning SEC 6th man of the year, he was a Canadian prospect who got a lot of hype early early after a strong jordan brand international game, butted heads a little bit with the Team Canada coaching staff. Turned himself into a really good role player.

not everyone can make that transition.

Look at ticket prices and crowds when the tournament is here compared to outside of Greensboro. It's a HUGE difference. Gboro seats 24,000 so bigger arena and market isn't a driving force. Tickets are dirt cheap this weekend. On the secondary market they're usually double face for Friday-Saturday. It brings over a million in revenue to the city while its here. It's in the middle of the east coast so for out of state teams it's perfect. Greensboro is the home of the ACC anyways. Atmosphere is just night and day when it's held elsewhere

MSG makes more sense than Verizon Center at this point. Without the home team (Maryland) in the conference anymore, they are missing a huge contingent of fans that would have been interested in attending the entire tournament. There will be plenty of UVA/VT/UNC/Duke fans at the games, but if one of those teams aren't playing, the crowds will likely be pretty weak, unless there is a strong showing of Cuse/Pitt fans...

Still on my sports bucket list to go to KC for Big 12 Tourney week. If the weather is good and you get a KU vs Iowa State or a KU vs KSU in the Finals on Sat the PN&L is packed with people. Day drinking...:smokin

What are your feelings about the location for the Big 12 tournament?  I think it should stay in KC and maybe once in a while in OKC, but never in Texas.

I'll chime in here. So, KC is the best place for it, there's no arguing that. However, I can admit it is strange to have the tournament in Missouri when there are no Big 12 teams in Missouri.

OKC is definitely option number two.

Dallas? Eh. Houston? Nope.

KC Power and Light being packed with Iowa State fans (props, 'Clones) and KU fans is always fun.

I'm so pissed looking at this Duke/NC State game. If this game is in Greensboro. It would be full to the ceiling and loud as hell. :smh:

Ingram's triple threat is lethal man.

While he's not "quick" he explodes out of that triple threat, and does a great shot of getting the defenders off balance. I'm impressed.

Rowan is Scott Wood with heart.

Can't wait til Cat gets this check so he can party with Future. That ***** is the biggest Future fan in the world  :pimp:.

This UW team is such a fun watch when they're on. Murray and Chriss :smokin

Josh Adams' season over. That kid balled all year.

I think it is the best venue in my opinion. I wouldn't have an issue with it rotating to other locations once in awhile but KC has done a great job of hosting. Sprint Center is a newish venue and the proximity to Power and Light is a huge draw for fans. Not to mention KC, MO is about as close to a central hub for all the schools of the Big 12 except for WVU.

Who wasted more talent this year: Johnny Jones or Leonard Hamilton?

Texas Tech should be pushed back to the bubble and hopefully out.

Too bad Georges-Hunt never got to play on a good team. Same goes for Blossomgame now.

Buzz outcoached Larranaga so badly last time with his matchup zone, I wonder if they can steal another one tonight. Either way, he's got Va Tech in a good spot.

USC = Top 15 next year.
