Official Toronto - Outlet and Store report

Terrible, just terrible.

whoever said to just give in to resellers DON'T. As a community, we need to stand up and speak out on this.

A sneaker head I met told me about some pair of 1's he wanted to buy and it was the last pair and this kid behind him was balling his eyes out (literally crying) so the guy let the kid have it.

I was in line to get a pair of shoes and they had a 12 and 13 (my size). The guy behind me was a 13 and couldn't downsize where as I could. So I told him I'll take the 12 you get the 13.

I'm sure all of you have similar stories. There is still good left in this community, we just need to be more vocal about it. These guys may hide their faces but we know what's up and sooner or later they will be exposed and move on.

Simply put: Don't support resellers/consignments who gouge.
I really think this deserve mad respect. I feel like as a sneaker community, and the fact that we're Canadian, sorta means that we should help out when we can, instead of trying to resell for ridiculous value just to make a profit off some kid.

And in terms of HOH in SQ 1, Although there were tons of chairs outside, I was able to just walk in at 9am and pick up the last pair of Kobe 9s All Star. So to be honest, I dont really understand the purpose of people waiting overnight at SQ 1 for shoes, when I think all you got to do is wake up a little early and walk in. Please correct me if i'm wrong tho, I've never really lined up for sneakers tbh haha

Lmao! I think there's only 2 brothers but I'm sure they are all connected one way or another! And yes It is "H"
i think we're talking about the same people, and they seemed to have made their presence known through social media...  so if you don't know if you check out any local fb sneaker groups you can def find these clowns.

the guys i'm talking about were at the jordan 11 low concord release at stc and one of them had the nerve to walk by the line (waiting to pay for their ticketed pairs) with a bag FSR of GS pairs...  a lot of the dudes in front of me (who were mostly of darker complexion, no racial) were thinking of saying how easy it would be to rob one of them.

one of the dudes said that if he couldn't get one for his girl he would be looking for that guy (with the last name starting with an "h").  Another dude was saying he sees them a lot and if they're the reason he misses out on the next release there's going to be some trouble because he was a serious sneakerhead/collector and these dudes were a cancer to the sneaker community here in toronto.

Not to sound like an *******, but why is it necessary to mention ones complexion in this instance?

Agreed on the unnecessary mention of complexion.

However, I too, was there at the stc release and these dudes definitely are a cancer to the game. The amount of Concords they walked away with that morning was ridiculous. Please don't support them by buying from them.

FYI, I am of the yellower complexion

you're right, unnecessary.

i'm sure alot of people felt the same way that morning.

do you guys think identifying these morons will deter them from continuing?

i mean to a point i appreciate the fact that the footlockers in toronto do fcfs, but when the "first come" and "first served" are all resellers this just poisons the concept of a sneaker release. Those who are actually vying to cop a sneaker they've been anticipating for months are instead left out in the cold (literally).  it becomes a game of "first come before the resellers are served."

then you can argue that a raffle system may also be flawed but in terms of random selection this does even the playing field a little more.  I know this argument has been brought up in the past so i don't want to keep beating a dead horse.

3 bunks of Black/White roshes at Nike Kitchener outlet for $59.99, 3 colors in women roshes also all $59.99

Blue/White Flyknit racers for 99.99 as well

Red/Maroon Flyknit Lunar 2's for 134.99

Nothing else worth noting.

Can anybody recommend any sneaker Facebook groups or sites they know are legit within Canada? I'd just like to see what's out there. And I agree. It sucks waiting in line from 5am or earlier to see the same resellers getting the shoes every time. Everywhere I've been to in the states has switched to a raffle system, and I lost every time I went. First time I ever won happened this week actually, and I walked away with the hero Kobe's I've been waiting months for.

where are you located? i'm assuming you want local ones to avoid shipping costs, or are you asking about canadian ones in general?

Within Canada is good, Toronto is preferred. My job takes me cross country, so I'm usually near someones neck of the woods fairly often

Facebook groups are all wild. the way you guys are describing the resellers i already know who they are. there's 3 brother's that work together and just buy the **** to resell

I say identify them! Isn't this what the internet is for? Putting people on blast from the safety of ones computer . Lol

I think there are different kinds of resellers. The ones u described are tolerable, eg buy an extra pair and then sell it to re-coup gas, parking etc. and then there are those that bring every family member and buys 2/3 of the stock and resells for 60-100% profit.

Let's put em on blast. Let's be fair here. If these resellers in question were picking up a couple pairs to flip, we wouldn't really care. It would be annoying, but not a problem. But when they're walking off with a handful of product, time and again, only to re-sell at ridiculous prices, it's up to us to put our foot down.

The GTA currently has a strong sneaker community and tolerable sneakerheads, but I've seen too many young guns be deterred from the game when re-sellers are ruining all the fun and availability. Let's try and find some solutions (aka, expose the 'villains').

The "Re-seller" good or bad is always going to be apart of the community. The question I ask is If you stop paying the prices they ask for then sooner or later they will stop and get a job? Really the only thing Everyone can do is pay what they want for the sneakers.  Its will be a on going convo about them.  I don't really care cause I've never grabbed anything from a reseller.  Its something all of us will deal with in this culture.  Same thing happen back in 2005-2007 re-sellers popped up everywhere. After most couldn't resell for much they stopped and got a job at Starbucks.  All the younger kids trying to do the resellers thing will learn that you cant but that on a resume' " I slept outside in the rain on a chair for a pair of sneakers to make $50. I was out there for 10 hours" Yes I did stupid things!  Just be smart when having to use a reseller and everything will be fine!  Keep in mind I haven't been a member of #NT for long, But those that know me know how long I've been around for.  Putting people on "Blast" wont help cause without social media and on-line these people wouldn't be able to resell! Putting up names of them will just help them become the more go to resellers.  If you wanna know like most info out there DO SOME HOMEWORK and find out for yourself.  Its almost the same as signing up here and asking for a ES pass with the 1st post!  If you don't contribute to the Community don't think that others will!

Man, that's so well said. It's a basic economic principal that a secondary market will always exist wherever there is demand. My greatest fear is that we see another collapse in the sneaker scene. It was probably around 08 when people got tired of paying stupid prices to resellers and left the hobby (or lifestyle, choose either). I saw the same thing in the sports card community I'm also involved in, over production and RIDICULOUS secondary market practice absolutely devastated that hobby, and it took half a decade to come back. As more and more people are alienated, demand decreases until eventually foot locker employees are hooking you up with a 30% off staff discount on a countdown pack of 4-19s just because the product is still in store 3 weeks after release. Resellers don't realize that by continuing the same practices their bubble has to eventually burst. We're stuck on the upswing now, but what goes up must eventually come down.

Anyone know what today's drops at HOH are? Nothing was posted on their social media outlets

I actually hope this happens again soon.

If you wear your shoes, you'll get them at the price you want to pay for them.

The people in it for a cash grab will be forced on their way out due to their stockpile of inventory that no one ever asked them to accumulate in the first place.
