Hot song though. I'm a film student and hope to get my foot into directing videos eventually. Whoever shot it did a good job on a budget. I mean thelightning could've been better but I thought it was shot on point. I think that shaking of the camera went well with the song. If it was a slow jam or ar&b song it probably wouldn't have fit but for a amped song like that I thought it went well. You should push that single. I can hear that in clubs orparties around here.

not bad for a 1st video........and I hear you on the being yourself with the fashion but think of it like this.

your 1st video is like a job interview, if you show up and don't give a good impression then your job skills are secondary. Yes you can rap but if I laughat your outfit then I won't buy your album, feel me? That's why dudes rent mansions, whips, and even jewelry for video shoots....to give off a certainimage.

Good @%!$ tho

I'm not saying go get clothes that ain't you or wear whatevers hot. I'm just saying you gotta sell ya self cuz the industry is not100% based on rap talent....actually that barely matters these days
laugh.gif

If I made a video I'd be my freshest tho....I know I'm not the only when I say the Karate Kid fitted kinda took my attention off the music.

Meh... I was having a bad hair day, seriously. I might just be too human for the industry dude

Man when did the rap game become about what clothes you got on though? You agreed you liked the music right? So a cat gotta have on jewelery thatdoesn't belong to him, a mansion that ain't his and a car he can't even afford to lease in order to get the attention of a consumer? I think itsall about the music to be honest. That's for me anyway. But I could be in the minority. Like I rock with Scarface and always has. I couldn't even tellyou the outfit I last seen him rock. Rappers are influential in everything from the way we talk, to attire, etc. but I never thought of clothes being aguideline to jumpstart a career. Or to even mantain one.

yeah u are the minority ....do you know who watches BET? Not grown men who enjoy lyrics. The majority of rap fans like ignorant stuff and thats why ignorantstuff sells. And thats why if you ain't doing ignorant stuff u aint gonna get put on by a label. There is only enough room in the industry for the MosDefs, Buddens, Royce 5'9s, and Freeways.

You easily had the best part IMO. You kind of look like a Clipse brother...or TDot. Same difference,
laugh.gif
. As for the video, it was nice for a first attempt. And whether you were going for a southern sound or not, truth is, it sounds like some Three 6 Mafia inspired type %+%%. So whether its what you was going foror not, be ready to get criticized for what it is. Good job though!!! [picture of two thumbs up]

1. see Rilla thats the point i was trying to make you have to have an image that people look up to and aspire to be. people dont respect the RN (regular ninja) that looks like them, first thing they say " oh look @ them bum *** ninjas". when your a rapper/ entertainer you gotta give people abig than life aura. i saying this cuz i wish you the best, cuz i want you to succeed

2. When didnt it? fashion and hip hop/ rap go hand and hand. sometimes yall nters kill me when they say that, swear by MF DOOM is so ill when he looks like ahomeless man with a mask on. think of all the top rappers and what trends they go thru to appeal to their audiences. quite simply you gotta dress to impress.

to OP, no one would care about clothes if you guys were saying something new.
you sound like run of the mill rappers (that do make it...but wear nice clothes when/if they do)

Since when do people say new stuff in music videos? Check my discography bro. I put the I.N. ininsightful where applicable.

And I hear you Frazier, honestly I do. I'd just rather play by my own rules for now. I'm so NOT rich that Iwouldn't even be keeping it "Rill" if I tried to impress people. Think about it.I mean, you're right, but at the same time I gotta do me. IfNas can waste countless classic bars over bland !+! beats for 15 summers and get away with it, I'm sure I can get away with Roc jeans and a tee shirt forat least little while

I feel what you sayin' but you sayin' that the reason Wayne went platinum in a week was because of the way he dresses? I guess you're right to anextent. I never really thought much about attire being mandatory on a career but I guess the times have changed. Actually I know they have lol. I guess i'mstill stuck in that mindframe of when Luda and Nelly dropped some years ago or when Fif dropped a couple of years ago. Those cats weren't dressin' likethey do now but its 2008.

MF Doom could rock a million dollar wardrobe and i'd still think he's garbage. Like I said above, hip hop is very influential on our culture especiallyin attire. But I look at Jay when he 1st dropped and how ever you were introduced to him did you say damn look at his clothes he has on or did you so damn thiscat was ill? Same goes for BIG, Outkast......I think this is where the rap game is turning to a dead end. All these cats are too dependant on "swag"and tryin' to look fly and don't put time into their writtens. That's one thing I can say for sure. Attire ain't never been mandatory in hiphop. IT was always about lyrics. Trust me 1st time I heard DMX flow he was in a wifebeater and some scuffed up Timb's.
