Was this racist?

You should have gotten your money back and dude was being difficult. You comparing him to the folk on Canal St. don't do anything for your argument. Idon't think you're racist but that was a poor choice of words.

And why buy RAM off eBay?!?!?! You lost once you hit buy.

i dont know man. there are some good points in here for both arguments. but you didnt say that all chinese sell fakes. you limited your statement to acertain group of chinese that rip people off. i dont think it was racist at all. you just compared him to something that he might not be proud of. i'mblack and we're the quickest to claim racism. if i'm out acting a fool selling dope and shooting guns, i cant get mad when someone compares me to theblacks down on whatever street killing each other. its a fact. might be a sad fact, but its true. if you said all chinese sell fakes it would be racist. just like saying all blacks are killing each other. imo you said nothing racist, insensitive maybe, but not racist.

Can you tell your Korean brother in my project group to step it up

You bringing up race pretty much voided all of your valid and rational points and now that guy has your racist email as record if you were to bring up emails as records to ebay. There was no reason for you to bring up race.
I totally get your point, but it's no secret that the Chinese street-vendors in the city sell fake/low-quality merchandise. It's a known fact.
But once you start speaking in generalization's it get sticky, even if those generalizations are true.

Yea, thats racist. What do you mean its a fact? So you're saying that maybe because you've had prior experiences with one or two chinese vendors whohave scammed you in the city, now all chinese vendors in the city are scammers? Comon now, thats like saying a particular ethnic group robs houses on a regularbasis and now all members of that particular ethnic group are crooks and thieves. And just because you're asian doesn't mean you can't be racistagainst other asians...
